Resources for contacting your MP about bees this autumn
To help with contacting your MP about bees this autumn, we’ve produced a set of template letters
and resources. These are:






Invite letter: for inviting your MP to an event.
Follow-up letter: to send to your MP after they attend your event.
‘If they say no’ letter: to send to your MP if they decline your event invitation.
Key messages: to get across to your MP whilst they’re at your event (note: you can also use
these messages if you’re having a meeting with your MP)
Standalone letter: if you’re not planning an event, a letter to send your MP asking them to do
more to support the campaign.
New campaign briefing
There are different versions of each of the above, so that you can send your MP the right letters
and briefings based on your MP’s party and whether they’ve supported our bees work so far.*
All you need to do is look through the table below to find out which category your MP is in. Next to
each of the categories there are then links to the resources suitable for those MPs.
Hopefully this will all make sense when you look at the table below. If not, or if you have any
questions, please contact beeinfo@foe.co.uk / 020 7566 4087.
*Note: If you’ve previously had trouble because your MP is a Minister, do not worry – all the asks in
these resources are things Ministers can do.
Did you know…? How to find your MP’s name quickly
To find your MP’s name quickly:
1. Press ‘Ctrl’ and ‘F’ at the same time. A navigation or find box will appear.
2. In the box, type your MP’s name – e.g. ‘Smith, Andrew’. And press return.
You will be taken to your MP’s name.
