Fingerprint puzzle Dr. Kahl has been kidnapped from his office! The class will examine his office and look for clues. Talks with colleagues suggest three suspects: Larry Watson was a student in Dr. Kahl’s organic chemistry class last year, who did not get along well with Kahl. When Larry earned a D in that class, his grades dropped to a 1.93 QPA and he was suspended from school for a semester. David Peterson is a current student majoring in biology. He is living off campus and trying to pay his tuition and rent by working as a bouncer at a local bar. He is independent of his parents, and has often told friends that he is having trouble making ends meet financially He is upset about this year’s tuition increase . Dr. Joe Young is an organic chemist who is jealous of Dr. Kahl and would like his job. Dr. Young loves teaching general chemistry, but he feels that he can do a better job than Kahl at teaching organic. You can examine Dr. Kahl’s office for evidence, and use any tools we have. There may be several clues. Students can work on various clues, and you can share your findings. Attached are fingerprints of the three suspects. Each student will need to write his/her own report, and turn in a one or two page report at class time on Wed., Sept. 27. Be sure to describe the evidence in detail.
