JOB DESCRIPTION
POST: PART TIME RECRUITER (REGIONAL) FIXED TERM UNTIL 31st DECEMBER
2015 (3 Days P.W.)
SALARY: £22,000 basic pro rata to part-time plus performance bonus scheme for getting
suitable people into post with good retention outcome up to £3,000
REPORTING TO: HEAD OF HR
ACCOUNTABLE TO: HEAD OF HR, OPERATIONS MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE: Actively recruit suitable support workers to fill vacant posts within the
region of Dumfries and Galloway.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SERVICE DELIVERY
This post has no line management responsibility.
1. Work with significant autonomy
2. Recruit staff to a target for specific services
3. Attend colleges, fairs, shopping centres, job centres and other venues to promote our posts
and actively recruit people
4. To promote the work of TPS and the organisation and to display values consistent with the
organisation’s
5. Develop relationships: work positively with external partners and identify opportunities and
potential partners in the region.
6. Work with individual applicants to support them to quickly complete the recruitment process
including providing the required paperwork for safer recruitment checks to be undertaken
(PVG, references, health, ID) so speeding up the whole process.
7. Working in partnership with local managers and staff in identifying vacancies and priorities.
8. Submitting advert requests and ensuring media/adverts of posts is done cost effectively, in line
with branding guidelines and using authorised providers in partnership with HR.
9. Working in partnership with HR to work to procedure and get people into post quickly and
safely.

10. To ensure all recruitment packs are up to standard and contain accurate information and that
all candidates are suitable—including checking the referee details before sending for
processing.
11. Working with local managers to undertake recruitment days and selection interviews through
both organising and actually interviewing people as part of the panel.

policies and guidance
13. To get suitable and high quality people into post in a sustainable manner and with a focus on
retaining them.
14. Gather and analyse information and produce updates and reports to inform TPS about the
demographic, skills shortage and recruitment situation in the region to find solutions.
15. Work well with and communicate with all relevant internal colleagues.
RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
1. To be familiar and comply with Turning Point Scotland’s Finance policies and procedures.
2. To comply with Turning Point Scotland’s Property, IT and Equipment policies and procedures.
3. To input to and maintain any records and los as required.
4. To share information gathered during the course of work appropriately and as directed with
other professionals within and outwith Turning Point Scotland in compliance with the Data
Protection Act and regulatory authorities’ and other legal requirements.
5. To maintain accurate and up-to-date time sheets and diary which can be relied on.
6. To minimise expenses incurred by the Turning Point Scotland in the course of undertaking
tasks.
7. To organise your own time and diary effectively.

The salary scale for the post will be (pro rata):
£22,000 pro rata plus performance bonus up to £3,000
The annual leave entitlement will be:
25 days per year plus 8 public holidays and 2 local holidays
Additional annual leave is granted in recognition of 3 years’ perfect attendance and of completing 10
years’ continuous service with Turning Point Scotland.
