From MiamiLINK, choose “Catalog”
Search by subject, keyword, or exact title and look for Middletown as a location

Accessing Library Databases From Home
Many of the research databases available in the library are accessible to students from off-campus. Connection
options are listed below.
1. Library Proxy Server (if you have non-Miami Internet access)
This option allows users to configure a current Web browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer) on an offcampus computer to gain access to library resources. Requires a valid MUnet unique ID and password.
Instructions for configuring various browsers can be found at the following URL:
http://www.lib.muohio.edu/proxy (AOL users should use the OhioLINK Remote Authentication, or the
Dial up Access option described below.)
2. OhioLINK Remote Authentication (if you cannot get #1 to work)
To gain access through OhioLINK from your home computer, go to the OhioLINK site at:
http://auth.ohiolink.edu and submit “Miami University” as your institution. You will then be prompted
for your name and identification number. If the information is correct, you will be able to access many
databases such as LexisNexis Academic and Academic Search Premier.
3. Dial up Access (Miami’s free Internet access)
Miami University offers PPP dial in access points at the Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown campuses. All
dial in access points require a valid MUnet unique ID and password. Additional information and
