International Exchange Placements
Cultural and creative organisations/businesses are invited to apply to take
part in one of three International Exchange Placements. Each exchange will
involve a nominated mid-career leader working in a matched overseas
organisation for a period of three-months, offering that mid-career leader the
opportunity to 'learn through doing'. The UK organisation will then reciprocate
by hosting an individual from their matched overseas partner organisation for
three-months. The exchange placements will also have guidance and support
from respected leaders outside of their organisations.
The exchange will develop in both the mid-career leader and the organisation



intercultural understanding
international leadership competencies
the art of international hosting
The exchange will allow cultural and creative organisations/businesses to
develop their intercultural expertise through experiencing a culturally different
working environment and procedures, helping to foster sustainable links for
the future. For the nominated mid-career leader, the exchange will provide
access to the leadership at all levels of the organisation within which they are
placed to gain an overview of the cultural and strategic operating context as
well as responsibility for delivery of a discrete project.
We particularly welcome applications for exchanges with China, India, Japan,
Korea and Taiwan.
The UK cultural and creative organisations/businesses1 are likely to
 already have a connection with their overseas partner of choice
 wish to develop links with a partner in one of the target countries, or
 be able to provide strong evidence of a commitment to identifying such
a partner
The exchanges can begin from April 2011, and must be completed by end of
December 2011.
