Following the emergence of AIDS , the number of samples tested increased dramatically. The initial base blood profile included only 1 2 tests . But, as larger analyzers became available , more comprehensive test profiles evolved with more than 24 tests being included . Test profiles were established based on their utilization in the hospital and clinical markets with only minor concerns about how well the test identified mortality risk in a well population . When insurance applicant results are analyzed , some tests provide no information on mortality risk while others provide only minimal information . At this session Dr. Stout will discuss how to use mortality results to drive test selection and how to eliminate unnecessary test(s). 11 :0 0 AM - 12 Noon “The Long Walk Home” from Afghanistan KEYNOTE ADDRESS Master Cpl.
