Challenge on Lake Huron.
Crew is limited to two persons

PHILOSOPHY OF THE CHALLENGE
The Huron Challenge is an opportunity to
participate in a friendly race - challenge for
double handed boats (those sailed with two
persons on board) and to rendezvous in scenic
Rogers City in northern Michigan.
Its aim is to encourage the development of safe
and swift offshore passage-making capability
with limited crew. Its a great way to get your
boat north in the company of others. Awards for
all Finishers plus special awards in class.
Managed by the Doublehanded Sailing
Association Race Committee with the support
of SYC, BCYC and Rogers City. Governed by
“The Racing Rules Of Sailing 2005-2008” as
adopted by USSA and the Sailing Instructions
CREW / BOAT ELIGIBILITY
Crews range from Husband/Wife, Parent/Child,
Best Friends to Hardcore Racers. Entrants
must detail their sailing experience. Subject to
review. Each entrant (skipper) must have 1000
miles sailing experience as a skipper and must
have made one non-stop passage of at least
100 miles under sail, requiring a passage time
of not less than 24 hours. Yachts must be well
found offshore capable yachts that comply with
required equipment list.

the PHRF rating system for guidance.
Multihulled yachts will compete within one
division using standard handicapping. All
