If you are a staff who needs access to SATS, please ask your supervisor to authorise and file this form on your
behalf. Please note that due to security rules, a staff may not request access changes to his/her own SATS account.
This form needs to be completed by teachers, program coordinators and general staff who require access to SATS.
Please complete sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 and review the policies outlined in the conditions of use and the business
processes on page 2 of this form. For submission, we ask the authorising staff to email the completed form to the IT
Helpdesk via helpdesk@rmit.edu.au

Please note that the staff requesting access to SATS must understand and agree to observe the following
conditions of access. As such, authorising supervisors should fully inform their SATS-using staff of the
following conditions:
I understand my role in the electronic tracking of student attendance information business processes (see over)
and agree to undertake the tasks as outlined in the business process in the course of my duties.
Non-College staff: I understand that I may not alter or update attendance information; and that my access in
SATS is limited to viewing and reporting on data held by the University; unless I have been explicitly authorised to
update data as part of my operational duties in the maintenance of the student attendance system.
I have read the University Privacy Policy (available at www.rmit.edu.au/legal/privacy), understand and accept
both my personal obligations and the obligations of the University as outlined in the policy.
I have read the University Student Attendance Policy including procedures, rules, practices, guidelines and
templates (available at http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=ifgv39qmvpbl), understand and accept both my
personal obligations and the obligations of the University as outlined in the policy.
I understand that student information held by the University, including attendance data, may not be disclosed to
third parties with out the express written consent of the student, unless the University is required under law to
supply this information; and where this information is required to be supplied under law it will only be supplied by
staff authorised to do so.

I understand that such requests for attendance data, made under law, by government agencies and department
shall be directed to either the Office of Academic Registrar; or to RMIT International for requests regarding fullfee-paying overseas students.
