SELECTION PROCEDURE
Following selection procedure will be adopted:
a.
Application Forms (supplied with prospectus), complete in all respects, will
be submitted by the last date prescribed in the Advertisement published in the
press. On receipt, the forms will be scrutinized and candidates found eligible will
be issued Roll Numbers.
b.
Written test will be held on a date which is advertised in the newspapers.
c.
Those who qualify the written test will individually be intimated and will be
called for interview and medical examination.
d.
Those who qualify all stages will be placed on a merit drawn according to
performance in written test, interview and class VII marks. Final selection will be
based on merit and relevant quota.
e.
Final call-up letters for joining will then be issued and selectees will join by
a date indicated.
Written Test
Candidates will be given written test in two categories:

Intelligence Test

Academic Test

Urdu

English

Mathematics

G/Science / G/Knowledge
All academic test papers will be of 25 marks each. The duration of each paper will be 15
minutes. Papers will be of multiple choice questions and will be solved on provided
answer sheets. The level of Academic test will be upto the standard of class VII as per
prescribed syllabus for entry into class VIII. However, the intelligence test is of 100
marks and time duration is one hour. Written test will be conducted at following stations:


Syllabus for Written Test
Written test for class VIII will be taken from the books
of Class VII in the following subjects:

English
Changing sentences into interrogative and negative form, giving answer to
questions and making question from given answers, answering questions
based on given passage or story, re-arranging jumbled sentences, completion
of incomplete sentences, present, past and future form of verbs, joining
sentences by relative pronouns and conjunctions, different forms of pronouns,
agreement of verb and subject, use of capital letters, the articles and the
apostrophe, antonyms/synonyms, use of preposition, degree of Adjectives.

Interview
Candidates who qualify Written Test for admission to Class VIII will be
called for Interview at one of the major cities. Efforts will be made to call candidates to
a location closer to their home station, depending on the number of candidates from
particular stations/ city.
Medical Examination:
N Cadets.
The candidates selected under N-Cadets
scheme shall be medically examined at Military hospital nearest to their home station.
In case an applicant is rejected on medical grounds, he has the option to invoke and
apply for Appeal Medical Board. However, this must be done within seven days of the
declaration of medical results by Military Hospitals; otherwise the candidate will not be
considered for re-examination.
Paying Cadets.
The paying cadets will go through preliminary medical examination
however; the parents/guardians of paying cadets will render a certificate that their
son/ward has no known serious or infectious disease.
Final Selection
A candidate’s final selection will be based on the overall merit
achieved by him, i.e. marks obtained in class VII, written Test and Interview, with
following weightage:

Qualification (Class VII Marks)

c.
Selection Board (Final Interview)

30%
Note: Only passing of the tests does not entitle a candidate for admission.
The
decision of the college regarding selection or rejection of a candidate for admission will
be final and cannot be challenged in any court of law whatever the case be.
