RSG HOMAC MEDIA RELEASE RSG ENDED 2006 WITH LOVE RSG (100 – 104fm) the biggest Afrikaans radio station in the world, now broadcast to 1.8 million listeners and needless to say, they are a bunch of loyal listeners. They proved that once again last year just before Christmas when RSG received an SOS for a charity drive in aid of abandoned children at an organisation called HOMAC (Home for Mother and Child). HOMAC is a group of 4 houses caring for Aids-orphans and abused children in the Ennerdale, Soweto and Orange Farm areas in Gatueng. The house-mothers opened their hearts to the children despite some of them having very little themselves. Coreen Kirkman for instance spend most of her R800/month salary on feeding 'her' children - and manage to make a happy home for them. Although it was short notice, RSG was delighted to get involved to assist HOMAC. The listeners of RSG acted positively to the charity drive on air and opened their hearts. Clothes, presents and food were dropped off at the SABC and were handed over to a delighted Coreen Kirkman and the children of HOMAC just before Christmas.
