 Brought in as a consultant for AWCC, dba Alltel Wireless, to manage transition from Alltel to AT&T.
AT&T’s purchase of Alltel received regulatory approval in October 2013.
 Manage network containing 200+ Juniper EX switches and SRX firewalls, as well as multiple SA security
appliances and M series routers for a network with 1000+ users and 30+ retail stores across 8 states.
 Lead engineer for a team of 5 answering to Director of IT. Team is now down to two as we prepare to
shut down everything to finish the transfer to AT&T. Still manage 2 datacenters plus 2 DR locations.
Managed complete shutdown and decommissioning of network.
 Day to day tasks include circuit troubleshooting, compliance with QualysGuard, JUNOS
troubleshooting, WhatsUp Gold and PRTG Maintenance. Handle SIEM with McAfee Enterprise Security
Manager (Nitro) and assist management of our web filtering using Websense.

Network Consultant

 Did a short-term contract as a Cisco consultant on a net-refresh project for clothing retailer Express Inc.
 The main project I worked on consisted of moving 561 Express stores onto an entirely new network
and infrastructure. Store network equipment consists of Cisco 2801 routers and 2960 PoE switches
with 7965 series Cisco IP Phones. Head end equipment includes Cisco 7206 VXR, 1002 ASR and Juniper
J6350 routers and Cisco 6500 series and Nexus 7000 series switches, Juniper EX series switches. Scope
of work includes troubleshooting MPLS circuits, BGP routing, CDMA 3G Wireless backup (DMVPN and
NHRP), and advanced network engineering. Orchestrated many smaller projects that supported the
main project including POTS line deactivation, advanced 3G troubleshooting, and a major VLAN move.
Firewall Engineer

 Short consulting contract on a firewall cleanup project for large insurance company in Columbus, OH.
 Worked on standardizing the object-groups and ACE rules on Cisco FWSMs and ASA 5550s. The
project was undertaken to standardize everything so they could bring in Cisco Security Manager.
Made recommendations to improve the efficiency of peer review and speed the entire process along.

 Worked as a contractor for the Minerals Management Service, Department of the Interior (public trust
position) until Hurricanes Gustav and Ike caused me to relocate. I was team lead of the New Orleans
office and was in charge of numerous projects while employed here.
 I managed various Cisco equipment including, but not limited to, Catalyst 6500, 4500, and 3500 series
switches. Routers included Cisco 3800 and 2600. Other devices include 7960G IP Phones, VG224s, PIX
515e's, 520s, 525s, along with Cisco IP Communicator, Unified Video Advantage and Call Manager 4.
Network management software is SolarWinds Orion and Cirrus for configuration backup and
management. Cisco Secure ACS for TACACS+ is in use as well. ForeScout CounterAct for NAC as well as
Cisco IDS and Checkpoint Firewall.
