Minutes of April meeting were distributed by email.
Motion by M. Judge to approve the minutes as submitted. 2nd by M. Cudworth-carried.
Master Naturalist Course
Norman Scheer shared his experience taking and graduating from the Master
Naturalist/Interpretive Guide pilot program given by Stockton College and the Edwin Forsythe
Foundation.
Congratulations to Norm for completing this course of study!

Barnegat Bay Festival: June 1

New subcommittee for Promotion of Events
New subcommittee for Grant Writing
M. Judge purchased the rain barrel & 4 bags of Ocean Grow to raffle, R. Harrington will print
our information sheets on rain barrels, M. Cudworth will make signs, N. Scheer, G. Kotzas, M.
Laratta and P. Sherwin will take shifts at our table.

Suggestions for future projects
A chipper for the town to mulch Christmas Trees
Phase in recycling cans in public areas
Look into status of post office recycling-consider a volunteer program to help get it started.
An EC member to attend the monthly OC Solid Waste meetings with the council member who
will be attending to help encourage recycling in town.

M. Judge will ask our Mayor about this once the new council assignments are made.
Tree Ordinance
Changes discussed at last meeting were made. Ordinance would go to attorney with a note for
him to add the wording about the permit review process and appeals.
Discussion of points
After discussion, motion by D. Roberts to approve the ordinance as written with 1 clerical
correction, and sent it to attorney review. 2nd by M. Judge. Roll Call vote (attached): 7 yes, 1 no
Oil Tank Removal
Marge Laratta presented written information about the costs and process for home under-ground
tank removal.
