The Agricultural Department of Student Executive Council of Bogor Agricultural
University organized the 2011 Agricultural Indonesia Conference, on 1-2 October
2011, at Sumardi Sastrakusumah Auditorium, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine
Sciences, Dramaga campus, Bogor.
The theme of the conference “Bergerak Sinergi sebagai Tanggung Jawab Bersama dalam Memajukan Pertanian Indonesia”(Moving Synergy as a Shared Responsibility in the Promotion of Agriculture of Indonesia), the conference was participated by about
85 students from 11 universities in Indonesia, which has a faculty of agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and Animal Husbandry. Those universities were the University of
Jember, Siliwangi University, Universitas Pembangunan Negara Veteran Yogyakarta,
State Islamic University of Sultan Sharif Kasim Riau, University of Muhammadiyah
Malang, Soedirman University, University of Padjadjaran, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa
University, University of Lampung and Riau Islamic University.
Also present were several institutions, namely COMMISSION IV of House
Representatives (DPR RI), IIBF, AGRINA, Perhutani (State Owned Forestry
Enterprise), Directorate General of Food Crops, BPSDM CTF, Balitbang (Research and
Development) of Agriculture, DPN APTRI, P2SDM IPB, BP4K, NASTARI, Koramil and Kodim Bogor, IPB LPPM, ISMAPETI, PPNSI, HKTI , Kampuskandaglu, Animal
Husbandry and Fisheries Services, Forestry and Plantation Services, POSDAYA IPB,
Farmers around the Campus, and other agricultural institutions.
The conference was officially opened by the chairman of the BEM KM IPB (Student
Executive Council of Bogor Agricultural University), M. Reza Pahlavi, and the chairman of the organizing committee of agriculture Indonesia, Adhiaksa Noegraha.
"The objectives of conference were to seek the solutions of various problems of agriculture in Indonesia by students and other stakeholders of agriculture," said
Adhiaksa.
Resource persons for this special event were from various institutions and practitioners including Mr. Dadan Mulyana S. Hut, M. Si (Lecturer at the Faculty of Forestry of
Bogor Agricultural University), and Chairman of Commission IV of the House of
Representatives, M. Romahurmuziy, and others. (Wied)
RECOMMENDATION MADE BY AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE OF
INDONESIA 2011
BOGOR, 1-2 OCTOBER 2011
Theme: Optimalizing the Contribution of Agricultural Human Resources for Enhancing the Sustainable Agriculture.
1.
Intensifying large-scale promotions and campaigns on agricultural products (in the broad sense) to enhance the marketability of agricultural products.
2.
Development of appropriate technologies, integrated and sustainable human resources to maximize the management of natural resources properly.
3.
The development of envinronmental-based agriculture and local wisdom .
4.
Program on Sarjana Menbangun Desa (SMD- Scholars for villages
Development) that assist community development and the agricultural extension workers.
5.
Promote secondary level vocational schools on agriculture.
6.
The concrete forms of cooperation between students and other agricultural stakeholders to follow up the research program activities and a specific community development desgined of students.
7.
A good partnership program between university communities, businessmen, governments and communities for to improve the agricultural development program.
Theme: Policies for Problems and Welfare of Farmers
1.
Agriculture is the right of a nation to provide the life of its people and its identity as well, therefore, special attention from the nation is really required.
2.
Firmed data are needed to support the implementation of policies both for the importation and and farmers.
3.
The continuation and Strong coordination between ministries in Indonesia in formulating and the implementation of the policies.
4.
One roof policy-making system.
5.
Specific target achievement and its supporting programs.
6.
The supporting programs and appreciation system for farmers to motivate their performances in agricultural development of Indonesia.
7.
Strengthening the security and legal systems for the agicultural fields.
8.
Develop local product varietis.
9.
Continues training programs are needed for farmers by its related agricultural services.
10.
Improving the professional performance and number of the extension workers.
11.
Development of science and technology to support the development of the
Indonesian agriculture.
12.
Policies on the appropriate use of agricultural land to reduce agricultural lands conversion.
Theme: Challenges for the Indonesian Agriculture in the AFTA Era
1.
Efficiencies on the agricultural products by improving the quality and quantity.
2.
Facilitate farmers to access financial supports, their input as well such seeds, production facilities, and infrastructures as a first step towards AFTA.
3.
Government support which will be formulated through the increased amount of the State Budget for agricultural development.
4.
Harnessing the potential of the domestic and international markets by enhancing competitiveness through the preferences of consumers.
5.
Improving the nationalism by consuming domestic agricultural products.
6.
The synergy between agriculture, plantation, fishery, animal husbandry, and forestry and other related fields for the advancement of the Agriculture
