You may have noticed the chat button at the top of the page. Chat time is at 8pm every evening with question time at 8pm
every Sunday at 9pm.

The trading standards video won't be shown on TV, its just to be shown at road shows and the like...ah well.
Thought the corrie fans might like this from Paul and Brad At Location Group, Bury, Manchester - Click on it to see it larger
and sorry to Deirdre fans. Moved to scrap book

The Trading Standards Agency has asked the League for permission to use one of the Charity shop sketches in an advert
and they have received that permission! More as and when I get it!
Thanks for all your replies to the survey below. I will display the results sometime next week, in the meantime keep
answering the questions!
I have reacted to one of the suggestions by adding an online chat area, give it a try and let me know what you all think!
7/1
There are additions to the FAQ section on the main page.
4/1/02
Just a quick note to say thanks for all the e-mails commenting on the web user magazine article. Have you seen the jokes
link at the bottom of the main page (here) please sign up for a newsletter, it doesn't cost you anything and it helps this site
stay open! Not much happening in the League of gentlemen world at the moment so there won't be a newsletter just yet!
1/1/02
Happy New Year! - This year is going to be an exciting one for Fans of The League of Gentlemen. First we have the filming
of the Third Series, then the showing of the Third Series and I am sure there will be some gent like appearances at some
point! As always this site aims to keep you up to date with all the inside info and gossip! I aim to update at least twice per
week so keep visiting!
29/12
Don't forget to record the Wicker man film on new years eve, its probably the only chance you will ever have of seeing the
long version of the film. Not the very long version but Jeez you can't have everything!
27/12
There is a Wicker man documentary on Channel 4 on Saturday 29th at 12.20pm. The BBC have decided not to show the
Xmas special on terrestrial TV this year although it is on digital!
16/12
Thanks to all of you who replied to the survey...I think it was a success and the results can be seen on the home page.
I hope to have the FAQ page finished this week!
The Tvcomedy.info site is going to be delayed...it is turning out to be a bigger site than I envisaged and I am not sure I
have the web space for it without taking pages away from this site and I am NOT going to do that! It may get to March
before it is released!
8/12
Hello! Sorry for the lack of updates this week, I have now updated the Local fans page, the home page, the Ringtone page
and the merchandise page!
The winners from the competition can be found on the merchandise page. I have moved the video and sound clips off the
front page and placed them into the downloads page!
I have recently been told about a 'Local' lad called Jonathon Bradley read his story here
Watch E4 at 5.30pm on Monday and see the League of Gentlemen Fans whoop Destiny Child fans on Fanorama!
1/12
The BBC are repeating the Christmas special on BBC2 on 30th December!
30/11
The Competition is now closed! Please check back in a few days to see a list of winners!
29/11
The Wicker Man is going to be on Channel 4 after Christmas (Dec 30) at the same time as BBC2 will be repeating the
League's Christmas special!
E4 will be showing a program called Fanorama from the tenth of December which features an episode that is The League of
Gentlemen Fans Versus Destiny's Child fans (guess who won?)
FANORAMA will start to transmit on E4 every night at 6.30pm from 10th December for two weeks,
and then continue from the first Monday of January (after the New Year) in the same slot for another
two weeks. Unfortunately, we don't have individual dates for the transmissions of The League show,
but all that means is you will have to watch all of them which should double the ratings immediately!
26/11
This site won an award last week off Amazon! You can read about it in the Affiliate section above!
25/11
You might not like this but I have just created a spoof version of Eminems Stan...in a league fashion! Listen to it here!
24/11
There is a sound clip to download on the index page, you will need windows media player to hear it! Also listen to the big
woman sketch here for a v.good quality version or here for a rougher quicker loading version!

The 'Local show for local people' is out Today! Get it delivered to your door in 24 hours here!
I am going to start a FAQ section and I need your help! Please send questions you feel should be
answered to jk@leagueofgentlemen.co.uk It doesn't matter if you think they are too easy and you can make them as hard
as you like...I won't get cross!
17/11
Just been watching the Live show and it is absolutely brilliant! I have the DVD and it has a link to the pbj web site which is
rubbish and a screensaver which is also pretty poor but it also has the 'Big Woman' sketch as 'special stuff' and it has an
individual sketch selecter and it gets two Extra scenes which are the Dentons and Pops Maverick bar sketch. Also Multiangle
option which is cool! Go Buy it!
15/11
Do you run a web site? Make money from it by clicking here.

I have had quite a few e-mails regarding this site closing in January. Just to make it clear it WILL NOT close. I am
launching www.tvcomedy.info but the League site WILL remain.
On a lighter note there is a new section in the official merchandise section - want to know what influenced the League of
Gentlemen? Visit it now! HERE!
10/11

done so do it now here!
8/11
This just in courtesy of the lovely Gail...
Today we went to see Shaz and Julia appear in a E4 TV game show called Fanorama. They were on it
as League fans and were playing against...wait for it.. Destiny's Child fans! of course we kicked their
butts! YAY! THEY WON THAT!!!! The questions were quite easy e.g. "How many maverick bars
went missing from Pops booth". You had to answer questions on the other teams subject too and Shaz
& Julia revised well! It was hosted by Claudia Winkleman and DCs team captain was Reece Thomas
(fast show) and David something (we don't know where he's from!!)
Our teams buzzer was a toad sound!! and we won by 22 pts to 16!! And boy did we squeal when we
saw what they won: A Tubbs scarf, some funny teeth & glasses, series 2 vid...and....(fanfare please..)
THE LIVE VID!!!!
7/11
If you are linking straight to here and not to the home page then you will have missed the details about the Competition we
are running to win one of Five 'Local' show Video or DVD click here now to read more about it!
5/11
Have a look at this site, its nice to see cheap things on the net for once! Click here!
Short notice I know but for the hard core fans there is a meet up in Hadfield on the 16th - 18th November anyone is
welcome and details can be found here.
http://www.roystonvasey.co.uk/hadnov.htm
Robin who is organizing it says...
We've definitely got a meet-and-greet session in the Masons on Friday; a conducted tour of the Hadfield locations by local
councillor Norman Garlick; a band on in the Masons on Saturday; and Paul Hays-Marshall coming to draw the raffle on
Sunday.
Plus, possibly, a trip to the Treakcliff cavern.
4/11
For those of you that missed the Christmas special it is being repeated on UK Play on the 12th November (at 1.30 in the
morning! Get the video recorder ready!) despite the rumour that it will be released on DVD in time for Christmas. Speaking
of Christmas special...the net has been alive with the rumour for ages now that the Third Series will be more like the
Christmas special, IE more focused on a few characters and fewer story lines per episode. This is obviously leading up to
the film the League say they are going to do after the third series.
3/11
You may find this funny, its a card taken from a phone box...
http://www.bezoar.org.uk/Dave/
I received this e-mail about Jeremy...
I thought you might be interested in knowing that Jeremy Dyson has just written an introduction to a new edition of Robert
Aickman's autobiography, The Attempted Rescue. Aickman, as you might know, wrote some very strange stories indeed, and
Jeremy has acknowledged him as an influence on his own writing. He has taken his admiration for Aickman to the point
where he not only adapted the author's "Ringing the Changes" for Radio 4 (with Mark Gattis), written a libretto for an
oratorio based on Aickman's "The Same Dog" but is preparing a short film based on Aickman's "The Cicerones." His
introduction to The Attempted Rescue is an obvious part of Jeremy's plan to make Aickman better-known.
If you want to know more about The Attempted Rescue details are at
http://freepages.pavilion.net/users/tartarus/rescue.htm, and details of Aickman's fiction can be found at
http://freepages.pavilion.net/users/tartarus/aickman.htm,
All best wishes,
Ray Russell

actual size is a lot bigger than shown!
Thought you might find this funny, it has been knocking around for quite a while now, apparently it was published in The
Sentinel as a genuine letter.

Whilst surfing I found this article about the first series when it aired in America...it's quite funny without meaning to be!
Read it here
Also I have added an Episode guide, and before all those who wanted this site to be 'different' and not just a list of facts
start to moan, come on...lets be proud our fave show has been running since Jan 99! Doesn't time fly!

Hello, varied news today, Fridays issue of the guardian had an article by Mark all about British Horror, v.good you can read it
here and speaking of Mark...'Dr Terrible's House of Horrible', Steve Coogan's new comedy show featuring Mark will begin in
November 12th!
A League game! Click Here!
And thanks to David Balston for this information...
Looks like there is a problem, found this on the uk.media.dvd newgroup.
"Just got off the phone from the Beeb and it turns out that there's a real howler of a problem with the newly released
'League of Gentlemen' series 2
DVD that will stop it from working on a range of different DVD players. If you find that the discs simply crash on the menu
screen, the Beeb have advised that you return your discs from where you purchased them for a full refund. Although nothing
has been decided yet, the title may well be remastered very soon.
Anyone wanting further info should call the beeb's help line on 0870 2410624"
There is a two page interview with the gents (it's mainly photos) in the latest (Issue 31) of 'DVD Review' pages 32 and 33.
There is also a review of the latest disc on page 82/83 giving Entertainment, Extras and Value 4 out of 5 giving an overall
score of 4 out of 5. Congratulations Gents, hope they can sort the fault out.
18/10
Did you miss the Radio 2 Interview with Mark and Reece? Listen to it here! You will need real player which you can get here
17/10
Got your DVD yet? Try this for the second series disc 2
Once again the League brings you more hidden footage on their DVD release. This time you'll need to choose the second
disc and scroll down the options on the remote until you're at the bottom of the screen by the number two. Now press left
and it will take you to a screen asking you to enter the 'easy to remember number'. The number is the phone number of
Pop's flat - 444 4244. Enter this and you'll be taken to some additional behind the scenes footage of the second series.
And this for series 1
Go to the extras screen and select Local People. Select a character and on the next screen you will see 'next' and 'back'
buttons and a 'Local People' option to go back to the main character selection screen. Highlight the 'Local People' option and
press left. You will now hear a sound clip for that character although it only works once for each character. To play it again
you must exit the screen and re-enter it.
15/10
Did you hear Mark and Reece on radio 2 today? Pity it wasn't a bit longer but they did say some interesting things about
'special stuff' they said the clues are out there and it definitely is a particular thing. Well, lets have your suggestions in the
Guestbook!
Bought the video or the DVD yet? The DVD is amazing, much better than series1, it is a two disc edition with absolutely
loads of special stuff! It includes loads of unseen footage as well as sounds, pictures and the lads voice over. Definitely
worth the money! Buy it here

The religion page has now been updated and there are rumours on the net that either one of Edward and Tubbs survived
the fire OR that some of their family is sent to run the shop. But how can they have family that isn't 'Local'?
05/9
The religion page is taking too much of my time so it is now a self run thing.
How often do you think this site should be updated? Let me know here
30/8
The League Religion Page is finally here! Visit it now!
29/8
In response to requests I have put the link back to the dating agency affiliated with this league of Gentlemen site, so now
there is two! The funny one courtesy of the Local Book and the one that could actually help you to meet someone! Try it
out!
For our American cousins here is a little info about the Region 1 release of the second series, courtesy of a kind fan called
Steve Porreca.
Sadly we will not be making the League series 2 DVD a region 0 product as there is a staggered release pattern planned for
the disc across the world so the version I am working on at the moment (what we call our 'core version') will be PAL regions
2 & 4....our US office have expressed an interest in taking the DVD sometime next year.....it will be a 2 disc set with alot of
bonus material on the second disc. I'm sorry it will not be commercially available in the USa at the same time as over here
in the UK but I'm am confident it will be available locally next year.
Kindest regards Ross McGinley Producer , DVD & Video
26/8
I have added a links page, please feel free to e-mail me a link you feel we would all be interested in! No League sites please

Rumour has it that the lads are doing a series of one off shows, if anybody knows for sure please let me know here
23/7
What do you all think of these as the League Religion ten commandments as suggested by the amazing Biscuit!
Ten "Local" commandments:
1) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's Precious Things. Nor his dog's arse,
pens or wife (unless he is spending the weekend at The Windemere, in which
case naught is forbidden)
2)Thou shalt not kill toads, be thou vet, evil twin, or right bastard.
3)Eat not the meat known as the Special Stuff, lest a curse of blood be put
upon thy land
4)Worship no false idols, for Lazarou is thy one lord and master
5)Thou shalt not steal 9 Maverick bars from thy local newsagency
6)Thou shalt e'er be respectful of those who would teach thee of issues
concerning homelessness, sexuality, racism, and any controversial topic,
yea, thou they may be overzealous and stray from the point with many an
outcry against their former spouse
7)Thou shalt be charitable, and for simplicity's sake be e'er in possession
of a bag with a special mark (lest a child may take hold and try to breathe
through it)
8)Keep thy house as custom dictates - colour-code thy towels and keys, allow
no dirty foot to enter thy threshold, and pass no solids into downstairs
lavatories
9)Work hard, lest thou be cast into the room of a thousand torments,
enduring a thousand humiliations and knowing no peace until thou put that
bloody lid back on the bloody pen, for I know what you're like
10)Thou shalt e'er be local, and stray not from thy town, for it is writ
"You'll never leave!"
Biscuit Buscemi.

This is the song the lads played at the end of the Last ever Local Show.
Artist/Band Sedaka Neil
Song title
Our Last Song Together
Album
Days of devils, kings and clowns
Angel songs and birthday tunes
Valentines and wishing wells
Magic stairways, moods, and Junes
Silly rhymes and monkeyshines
Pictures on a stage
Round and round the records go
Time to turn the page
Lyrics
This will be our last song together
Words will only make us cry
This will be our last song together
There´s no other way to say good-bye
Misty faces, far off places
Came and danced across the stage
Sha na na´s and Doo be down´s
The sounds that chased away the blues
Yesterday is yesterday
The past is dead and gone
Nostalgia just gets in the way
Let´s stop hanging on
This will be our last song together
Words will only make us cry
This will be our last song together
There´s no other way to say good-bye
Now we go our separate ways
And the world we used to know
Scratchy worn out 45´s
An echo on the radio
Tra la days are over now
Those days of you and me
Now we know that breaking up is
Really hard to do
This will be our last song together
Words will only make us cry
This will be our last song together
There´s no other way to say good-bye
There´s no other way to say good-bye...
I asked Steve "Why Neil Sedaka?" He just said tradition!
18/6
I am back! Well the last Local show was tonight, and it was a good one! The lads decided to make the last ever show, which
was the 111th, the best ever...and it was! This was my 7th show...or 8th, cant remember... it was different than the others
because of the amount of changes they made!
During Mau Mau when Geoff got the gun out, Brian got a bigger gun out and shouted...I have told this joke 110 times and
you know I have got this gun, so you are going to tell the joke (to Geoff) and we're all going to laugh (to the audience) or
Mike gets it! And Geoff takes over Brian's role and when he can't remember the punch line Mike pulls a gun on Geoff!
During the Mrs. levenson sketch, when the real Mrs. Levenson comes back...Pauline walks on stage and tells them they have
missed a bit then walks off!
The I just Love gay guys sketch was the first to be altered, I think (?) When Tish bums a fag off Reece, he hands Steve a
huge Cigar, when she wants to bum another and normally he hands her the packet, he said "Here shove that up yer arse, I
have give up anyway"
The best of all was the Denton's sketch....The curtains opened to Val giving Harvey a blow job on her knees, when Benjamin
walks in (and he looked like he didn't know it was going to happen) and said Morning, Val spits out a load of white stuff, all
over the stage! (I later found out it was mayo!) When Benjamin is told to get the little soldier out, Val says Oh, not so little!
And Reece turns round and has a huge plastic Penis hanging down!
There were other changes but that's enough for now, you had to be there! The best is yet to come!
At the end, during the standing ovation (led by yours truly on the front row!) The stage hand who shouts to turn the lights
off when Pauline is shot, walks onto the stage and hands them a card with The End written on it...Well to say it was
emotional is an understatement! Reece was nearly crying and they all agreed they were sad to end it even though they had
looked forward to it finishing. Worrying was the record they played at the end, instead of Voodoo Lady they played a song
which had the words "This will be our last song together" or something to that effect! Lets hope not!
The best bit! After the show, my Wife and I were trying to find the Stage Door, we walked around the building and then
stumbled on the door in the main foyer! There was only a handful of people waiting and as soon as we joined the Queue,
the line started moving. Now I thought we were being led into the Theatre again to have autographs, but we were lead up
some stairs and I recognized lee Pemberton in front of me, Steve's brother! So it slowly dawned on me that this was the
Backstage Party, so I had a dilemma...gatecrash or not. I did. In Steve's Dressing room was a group of people, the three
lads plus Jeremy and mums, dads, brothers etc...My wife and I stood like idiots for a few minutes listening to the lads talking
about the show, before I decided to do the right thing and my wife approached Steve and admitted we were gatecrashers
and could we please have some autographs and then we would go!
Steve didn't look totally happy, and I don't blame him, but nice guy he is he signed my Wife's Special Stuff T-Shirt and I
asked him a few questions and shook all their hands before saying thanks and disappearing! Steve's brother told Reece to
sign my Wife's T-shirt on the front, not the back, but as she is not a Reece fan like most of the other female fans, she
declined! I told Steve that we had played Neil Sedaka as guests were arriving at our wedding three weeks ago and then we
played Voodoo lady as we walked down the aisle! He asked if we had paid royalties to the writer, nodding at Jeremy and
Jeremy said he would invoice me!
Well that was that...the last ever Local show...sad but exciting to see what they come up with next!

If you have ordered a t shirt transfer you will have noticed that you have not received it. The suppliers of the transfers has
gone bust. I have another source but supply will not commence until June 18th.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
As a result of this I have ceased offering the transfers.

Watch out for the League of Gentlemen week on PlayUk in July...its going to be a little bit special!
We have had big brother and castaway and now survivor...but nothing has prepared you for LOCAL BROTHER see it here!
14/5 Here's something interesting. A few weeks ago I asked a question on the Discussion board about posting Reece's
Address on Yahoo's Discussion board. All the fans agreed that it was a bad thing to do...even though most of them knew it
as the Daily Mail had published the web address of a site where you could find David Beckhams address and other famous
addresses. It just goes to show how sensible the League fans are. Anyway, a few days ago I received an e-mail off the
Leagues management asking me about my 'plan' to publish Reece's address. I explained that it was not actually serious of
course but just goes to show that someone is keeping an eye on the discussion board! Velly interesting Mr Bond...
10/5 How about that Tubbs coming 16th! And that's after only 2 series! What will The Leagues popularity be like after a few
more years?? Three cheers for the lads anyway for making us laugh!
Thanks to Gary for the pictures!
