410331 Theory of Structures
1stTerm/2543
INSTRUCTORS:
Dr.Tanongsak Bisarnsin and Associates
PREREQUISITE:
410211 Mechanics of Material I
TEXT:
Structural Analysis; 4th Edition (1999)
Russell C. Hibbeler
DESCRIPTION:
The course examines the fundamentals and mechanics in
determining the structural loads and member forces, influence
lines, and deflections of the structural system. The emphasis is
on using the intuitive approach to introduce the concepts of the
theory to solve complex determinate, and simple indeterminate
structural problems.
OBJECTIVES:
The students are expected to be able to apply the theory to basic
structures involving the strategy in the process of formulation,
execution, and the diagrammatic interpretation of the results.
They are expected to be proficient in the construction of axial,
shear, bending-moment diagrams, and elastic curves of the
applicable structures such as beams, frames, and trusses.
