TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC UTILITIES GROUP (TPUG) DISSERTATION AWARD If approved by the members, TPUG will conduct its annual TPUG Doctoral dissertation competition in 2006 to acknowledge outstanding contributions of young scholars in the fields of transportation and public utilities. An announcement will be distributed to all members and through other appropriate channels in early 2006. John Howard Brown will organize two sessions (one each of public utilities and transportation topics) for the International Industrial Organization Conference in Boston MA, April 7-9, 2006. This precedent was reaffirmed in the spring of 1973 by ballot vote of the membership. As a result of this directive, forty-seven awards of recognition have been made since 1965.
