You are not telling a story. Each paragraph has to have knowledge and understanding (
KU) - this is the description and dates and figures. However to get a good grade you
have to explain why you have included it. How did it cause.... the cold war ... America
to restrict immigration. This is called argument.
VIETNAM
Protests about Vietnam war
This is quite a nice site. The paragraphs in bigger font are good as they give reasons
for opposition as well of details of opposition. You would want to mention these in
your section on protests. Also at the end it has information about people that supported
the war - it would be nice to have a little of this to show that protests alone were not
the only reason.

In this para it has a nice bit about protest having an effect on the govt - refer to the
pause in operation rolling thunder. It also refers to the doves.

America shut door immigrants
In your introduction you should show examiner that you know that america was
shutting the door. e.g. what acts did she pass? remember that table you drew.
http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/Images/GuideUSA1918to1939_tcm4375483.doc - Opens a word document - go to page 12 this is good to page 20. A good
idea to print - 2 pages per page then highlight.
Racism
You should show how the acts demonstrate racism to people from Japan or
China or eastern europe. e.g. only 3% of those in 1910. Which favours western
europe.
http://www.shmoop.com/1920s/immigration.html ( this website has some nice
numbers about where they came from - this is good to show that they are restricting it
due to racissm - para 1 and 2 - then go down to the bit about slamming the door - it
has some nice stuff - as figures help highlight how racist their laws were)
