On Friday, November 22, 2013, at approximately 8:55 pm, Officer Joseph Griffiths
investigated a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the CVS store on Tilton Road,
in the Bargaintown section of Egg Harbor Township. Through the Officer’s
investigation at the scene it was revealed that occupants of the vehicle were in
possession of marijuana (under 50 grams). 4 of the 5 vehicle occupants were
taken into custody. A juvenile from Mays Landing was charged with possession of
marijuana under 50 grams, a juvenile from Mays Landing was charged with
obstruction, Raquan Cotapo (19 years of age from Pleasantville) was charged with
possession of marijuana under 50 grams and Khadr Ardis (18 years of age from
Pleasantville) was charged with hindering apprehension and had warrants for his
arrest. The juveniles were released to parents, Cotapo was released on a
summons and Ardis was being held on the active warrants. The vehicle was towed
to the Egg Harbor Township Police Station.
Further investigation at the station revealed over 3 bricks of heroin and vials of
codeine. All five occupants of the vehicle were charged with possession of heroin
with intent to distribute, possession of codeine with intent to distribute and
possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The two juveniles were arrested
on these charges. One was lodged in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center
and the other was released on the Home Electronic Detention program. Anthony
Hare-Jones (18 years of age from Pleasantville), the fifth occupant of the vehicle,
was arrested on these charges along with Khadr Ardis, who was still in custody on
warrants. They were both lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on bail set
at $60,000 full by Municipal Court Judge H. R. Switzer. At this time Raquan Cotapo
has not been arrested on these new charges. Anyone with information on
