Completed the annual United Way of South Hampton Roads fundraising campaign. Exceeded our $3,000 goal by raising $3,690 (123% of goal). Presented the Second Annual CW 27 Health & Fitness Expo which took place at the Norfolk SCOPE, 201 East Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, Virginia. This free expo was a one-stop shop for all health and fitness needs and concerns. It also featured free and discounted health screenings such as EVMS Sight Savers, blood pressure and spinal checks, Red Cross blood drive and live demonstrations such as salsa dance, karate and Zumba. In addition, there were special guest appearances by national celebrities Judge Alex, host of “Judge Alex” and Mitch English, weatherman from “The Daily Buzz”. 15. Day which is presented annually by the Rotary Clubs of South Hampton Roads. It is one of Virginia's largest grass roots volunteer projects of its kind, a one-day community beautification project. On paint day, community volunteers meet at their city’s designated spot and receive their home assignments. Then, each paint team consisting of 30-35 volunteers disperse to their home assignments throughout South Hampton Roads to paint the exterior of homes and clean the yards of elderly and/or handicapped homeowners. Since this annual community service project began in 1992, over 750 homes in the Hampton Roads area have been painted at no expense to the homeowner. Portsmouth 20.
