March 7, 2016 Dear Paramedic Student, We would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to the Brigham Young University-Idaho Paramedic Program for Fall Semester 2014. This is an exciting and rewarding program and we are pleased to welcome you as a paramedic student. In order for you to be eligible for the program, you must be a regular student at BYU-Idaho, or have been accepted to BYU-Idaho before the program start date. Being accepted into the Paramedic program does not guarantee acceptance into BYU-Idaho, and vice versa. You should have also completed the minimum prerequisites which include EMT-B Certification, either National or State, Biology 264 & 265, Math 108 or equivalent and Chemistry 101 or higher. In this packet, we have included the following checklists: THINGS YOU WILL NEED WHILE YOU ARE IN THE PROGRAM THINGS THAT NEED TO BE DONE BY THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES STATE OF IDAHO REQUIREMENTS EIRMC CHECKLIST PORTNEUF CHECKLIST PARAMEDIC BOOK CHECKLIST PARAMEDIC CLASSES SIGN-UP CHECKLIST MASTER CHECKLIST IMPORTANT: Bring the copies of everything on the first day of class. You will be granted access to register for paramedic classes for the Fall after the faculty submits an approval. You will be receiving an e-mail letting you know when you have permission to register. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. We look forward to your arrival and placement in our program. Sincerely, John Lewis Paramedic Program Director Brigham Young University-Idaho 1 THINGS YOU WILL NEED WHILE YOU ARE IN THE PROGRAM You will need access to a vehicle for travel to and from EIRMC and the Idaho Falls Fire Department in Idaho Falls (60 miles RT, you may carpool) for clinical classes which will be required at least one night (or more) per week and to work with the local ambulance.
