STAND OUT
Rom 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: (meaning to separate)
…but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I would like to title this message STAND OUT
Exodus 8:--We all know the story of Moses and how God used Moses to lead the children of Israel
out of Egypt.
We pick up in verse 20 where God is sending Moses to Pharaoh…
Ex 8:20-23
20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before
Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let
my people go, that they may serve me.
21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee,
and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the
Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no
swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the
midst of the earth.
23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this
sign be.

Repeat…
Then of course we all know that Pharaoh didn’t take God seriously and rejected the word
that Moses had relayed…
In chapter 9
Moses again approached Pharaoh and he would not listen…
Ex 9:2-4
2 For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,
3 Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses,
upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very
grievous murrain.
4 And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and
there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.

In verse 26, after Pharaoh again would not listen, God sent hail…
Ex 9:26
26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

A pattern is being developed here…
Up until this point God has separated the Children of Israel from the Egyptians…
(ReREAD the verses…)
In chapter 12 however, there is a slight change… God begins to describe the Passover
and all that it contains and the importance of it…
It is at this point that God requires something of the Children of Israel. You see they were
the Children of God therefore they had the blood applied to their lives, that’s why
God had separated them from Egypt’s plagues, but now God was asking them to separate
themselves through the Blood…
Ex 12:12-13
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt
I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and
when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to
destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

You know what he was telling them to do? He was telling them to STAND OUT…
There is a challenge today to the Church and to the Youth of the church to Stand Out.
Churches are beginning to no longer STAND OUT
Churches look like theatres
Christians now look just like everyone else, we blend in
They are hip, cool, sophisticated and accepted
They show up to church on time and leave at alter call
Services are built around convenience and attention spans
Sacrifice itself has become diluted and over-rated
Instead of baring our Crosses everyday we carry around little snapshots of our cross in
our pockets for convenience.
Churches now operate and conduct business with secular faith and views instead of
spiritual faith
YOU CAN NOT RUN GOD’S CHURCH THE WORLD’S WAY… IT DOES NOT
WORK THAT WAY.
You see we live in a world today with phrases such as:
“If it Feels good then just do it” -Nike
“For everything else there is Mastercard” – mastercard
“Have it your way” – Burger King
We live in a society where we compete for attention to ourselves, and we fight for
acceptance…
This world needs for the Church to STAND UP AND STAND OUT… They need the
rock upon which we stand; they need the un-wavering faith of the church. They need for
us to let the love of Jesus shine through.
There must be a SEPARATION between the children of God and the rest of the world…
I see people every day who are overwhelmed with:
Fear
Guilt
Pressure & Stress
Anxiety
Depression
Many parents now avoid the responsibility of teaching their kids; they simply leave it to
everyone else. ( teachers, coaches, friends, Hollywood…) What they need is an
experience with God.
They need the church they need a holy–ghost filled youth group to STAND OUT
amongst the crowd and let the Blood of Jesus shine through…
(Everybody point at yourself and say they need me…)
The bible says:
1 Peter 2:9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar
people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light:

We are a testimony of God’s love and power.
As Children of God we are to STAND OUT…
Allow me to take it this far…
If we are truly a chosen generation, and a royal priesthood then we as the church should
STAND OUT:

Spiritually- among Christians and non-Christians
That means in our prayer life and relationship with God. It also
means developing your ministry and taking it new levels every day.

Mentally- that includes our attitudes.
That means learning to forgive, and building up your friends in
the youth group.

Physically- health & appearance. We are a vessel of God. God is not glorified
in unhealthy lifestyles.
We need to take care of our selves. We are temples of God not the
Motel 6 that only practices weekly cleaning. We should represent
God with healthy living.

Educationally- how can we be a testimony for God to the world with bad
attendance and bad grades?

Financially- Bro. Johnson says it so well, God’s economy is not broke.
We represent the lord God almighty King of Kings… we need to worship and glorify him
in all that we do.
TO STAND OUT is to truly walk by faith and represent God through his word…
This youth group is an awesome youth group and it is an incredible privilege to be apart
of it, I talk about it all the time. God is not done yet,
We have a line of communication with God, prayers are being answered God is moving
but what about the world?
We need to reestablish a line of communication with the world,
This is a little different than what we generally hear...
WE ARE THE LIFELINE! We are link to God,
The church is the house of refuge where God changes lives…
We need to STAND OUT so that people know who to turn too; we have to be
ambassadors for Christ…
That means taking on the mindset and lifestyle of Christ…
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh
about, seeking whom he may devour:

Satan will do all that is within his control to destroy lives, he will stop at nothing….
He will attack the church through:
Our worship
Youth- they need the church to STAND OUT for them alone
Satan only desires to destroy…
BUT…
Isa 59:19
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the
rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD
shall lift up a standard against him.

All God needs is a church to STAND OUT
He needs a HYPE youth group to STAND OUT
We as the body of Christ have to be that standard we have to apply the BLOOD to our
lives so that others might see it, we have to STAND OUT
You know there is something interesting about STANDING OUT:
You know where you stand and ….
Everyone else knows where YOU stand
You know what you are standing up for
You know who you are standing for
Because we are ambassadors for Christ, when there is a problem people all ways no
where we are
Eph 6:13-14
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore…

I want us to STAND together and raise up a standard…
If you don’t know God or maybe not as well as you would like to, but you are tired
of the way things are why don’t you take a STAND and give it to God
