• October 2001 - November 2003 - Senior Account Manager : Special Project
Manager - Bezier, Wakefield
Initially working on the Superdrug account as a Special Project Manager ensuring
specific technical client requirements for key stores were implemented correctly
and KPI’s and targets met.
Promoted to Senior Account Manager on the house accounts team I was
responsible for managing and overseeing a team of four handling Dixons Stores
Group, Magnet and Matalan accounts, ensuring all projects were delivered to
schedule, KPI’s & sales targets were met.
A new business win gave me the opportunity to head the Homebase account team
of nine people with a turnover of over £4m. During this time I was based between
our Wakefiled site and the clients head office in London, visiting store refits & new
store builds whilst working closely with the Homebase marketing and design teams
on seasonal POS campaigns, weekly reactionary print, FSDU’s & store trials.
Building strong relationships with the marketing team and store refit project
managers I gained their support and confidence to deliver key point of sale
ensuring their projects were fulfilled to specific timescales.

To be the main contact for Senior Homebase personnel and the Bezier team
based at Homebase head office.
To efficiently process all client requirements & ensure deadlines are met.
To oversee and manage the Wakefield account team of nine people,
ensuring all procedures and critical paths were met and that all orders,
approvals, events/promotions, themes and regional & national requirements
were correctly implemented.

SALES DIRECTOR - Client facing role maximising sales from existing client base
and generating new sales leads.
PRODUCTION DIRECTOR – Having gained an excellent technical knowledge of
digital pre-press for various print processes combined with my ability to
communicate effectively at all levels I was awarded the role of Production Director.
Liasing with clients and production I was responsible for all workflow through the
business from full repro and production of final film to large format digital print
through inkjet, electrostatic print and dye-sublimation onto fabrics.
My role required knowledge of various substrates, print processes (often with
extreme dot gain / loss) and the ability to produce and assess final output to ensure
accurate reproduction was achieved.
As the clients initial contact it was my responsibility to ensure technical pre-press
instructions including planning, trapping information and dot gain was
communicated to the production teams. I was also responsible outsourcing all
finishing work for digital print, signing off proofs and checking final film.
SCANNER OPERATOR - Colour drum scanner operator, producing final film
separations from original transparencies & artwork. Retouching images to meet
client specifications including matching swatches and producing film suitable for
litho and screen print. Proofing using Cromalin system, hand mixing special colour
toners to pantone refs. Production of large format film separations using 120”
gallery camera.

As an apprentice I was responsible for maintaining film processors, camera
operator producing film negatives for the planning department and archiving of final
film.
