Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Director: Mr. Ruben Carpizo, PhD Candidate The Adventist University of the Philippines is one of the institutions of higher learning authorized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to accredit individuals’ actual achievements towards the conferment of an earned degree under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP). What is ETEEAP? The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation program (ETEEAP) is an educational assessment scheme which recognizes knowledge, skills and prior learning obtained by individuals from non-formal and informal education experiences. By establishing equivalency competence standards and a comprehensive assessment system employing written test, interview, skills demonstration and other creative assessment methodologies, higher education institutions may administer competency – based evaluation. A Panel of Assessors is convened to determine candidates’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant to a particular discipline, and consequently equivalent credits and appropriate certificates and degrees are awarded by administering higher education institutions. Programs Authorized by CHED Adventist University of the Philippines is authorized by the Commission on Higher Education to offer the following programs under Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation program (ETEEAP): 1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing 2. Bachelor of Science in Education 3. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science 4. Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Qualifications of Candidate An ETEEAP candidate must meet the following qualifications: 1. 2. 3. 4. Filipino, at least high school graduate or must have PEPT equivalent to first year college. Has at least five (5) years of work-related experience. Must be at least twenty-two (22) years old; and Able to show evidence of capability and thorough knowledge through the following evidences: o Certificate of Proficiency issued by the government regulatory board. o Certificate of Proficiency issued by the employer(s). o Certificate of Proficiency issued by a licensed practitioner in the field. o Business registration. Part I – Assessment using the AUP-ETEEAP Instrument. This instrument will be used to assess the documents submitted by the applicant. 3. Part II – Assessment involving the following: a. Written and/or Practical Exam b. Skill Demonstration Supplementary Courses 1. 2. Panel of Assessors recommends the type of supplementary courses. Faculty experts provide supplementary courses in the form of modules, seminars, short-term or crash training program. Awarding Of Degree/Diploma 1. 2. ETEEAP degree/diploma is awarded to all participants who are able to comply with all the requirements. Enrollment in the program is required if supplementary courses were recommended. a. b. The number of units to be enrolled depends on the recommendation of the panel of assessors. The candidate should be able to pass the following exams: - qualifying exam - comprehensive exam - other exams by the panel of assessors and faculty experts Assessment And Accreditation Fees 1. ETEEAP Fee 25,000.00 The ETEEAP Fee will be used to pay the panel of assessors, faculty experts and other participants involved in the preparation of evaluation instruments to be used in assessing the applicant. 3. ETEEAP Director receives application forms, supporting documents, and CHED endorsement. ETEEAP applicant receives notice for interview, orientation, and personality assessment. Applicant reports and presents notice for interview and orientation to the ETEEAP Director. After interview and orientation, applicant receives a pay slip for application fee and presents it to the cashier for payment. Reports to University Guidance Center for Personality Assessment. Applicant is given advice to wait for further notice. ETEEAP Director verifies the information and documents provided by the applicant. ETEEAP Director duplicates the application form and supporting documents and distributes them to the panel of assessors. Panel of assessors convene to assess the information and documents provided by the applicants using the AUP-ETEEAP Instrument. If applicant is qualified, he/she will be given notice about the schedule of the Part II evaluation. Applicant pays the ETEEAP fee and reports to the ETEEAP office for the Part II evaluation. Panel of Assessors submit results of Part II evaluation and recommendations for supplementary courses to the ETEEAP Council. ETEEAP Council reviews the results and assigns adviser for the candidate. The candidate receives results of Part II evaluation from the ETEEAP Director’s office. Candidate enrolls the supplementary courses or training programs recommended by the panel of assessors within the specified period and pays the corresponding fees. After completing the supplementary courses, the candidate reports to the ETEEAP office for final evaluation. After full compliance of all the requirements, the ETEEAP council recommends the candidate for the granting/awarding of degree. 18. ETEEAP candidate receives approval and confirmation of candidacy for graduation. He/she pays graduation fee, diploma, and other fees. Qualifications 1. Panel of Faculty of Experts a. Permanent faculty member b. At least five years relevant work experience c. Relevant educational background 2. Panel of Assessors a. Faculty Expert - member of the Panel of Faculty Experts b. Industry or Professional Organization Representative – endorsed by the head of the agency or organization with at least 5 years work experience. Functions 1. U-ETEEAP Director a. Receives application forms and documents endorsed by CHED b. Conducts interview c. Conducts preliminary evaluation on personality assessment results and documents submitted the applicant. d. Verify the validity of the documents submitted the applicants 2. U-ETEEAP Council a. Selects Panel of Assessors b. Selects Panel of Faculty Experts c. Review the recommendations of the Panel of Assessors and recommends to the VPAA. 3. Panel of Faculty of Experts Prepares written/practical tests 4. Panel of Assessors a.
