St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
Mission Statement
We, the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton,
are an all-embracing, diverse Christian community who warmly
welcomes everyone to join us. We draw closer to God and one
another through worship, which nourishes us for service to our
brothers and sisters. We choose to combine our many gifts to
teach, celebrate, evangelize, help those in need and proclaim the
Gospel of Jesus in word and deed. Amen.
NOTES FROM FR. ROGER
MENSAJES DE PADRE ROGER
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Grandfathers
and Godfathers of the Parish.
Feliz Dia de los Padres a todos!
Gentlemen…thank you for the gift of life and faith
that you offer to us your children. We appreciate
your guidance and love as we all move through the
years together. May God continue to bless you and
keep you strong in your faith and family life.
Vacation Bible School begins this week. Thank you
for your support of this program that has been part of
Seton life for many, many years. And thank you to
Mary Holmburg, Kiersten Ciach, the youth ministry
and the many volunteers who make this event
happen. Our children love it and they learn so much
about their faith and about God’s love for them.
And in a few days…the official beginning of summer
will be here. Enjoy these days and months that are
ahead. Our Family Carnival will be in July…it is
always a grand time for all. Invite your family and
friends to join us. Bien Venidos todos al Carnivale.
An open invitation to all Catholics to celebrate Mass
with Bp. Malooly on Thursday, June 21st at 7:00pm at
Holy Cross in Dover…this Mass will celebrate the
Fortnight of Freedom, which the Bishops of the USA
have asked Catholics to join in with prayer and
support.
NEXT WEEK’S READINGS
Zech.12: 10-11, 13:1, Galatians 3:26-29, Luke 9: 18-24
11th Sunday in Ordinary Time
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - In the issue of
the Dialog, you will find a very important article on
the Lay Employee Pension Plan. The plan is a major
component of the Sustaining Hope for the Future
campaign.
The campaign assessment study
conducted last December and recent meetings with
parishioners throughout the diocese reveal that there
are many misperceptions and misunderstandings
about the plan. This important article highlights the
history of the plan and details the need for additional
funding.
Our lay employees touch our lives in so many ways:
from the parish secretary to the director of religious
education; from the Catholic school teacher to the
cemetery worker. These lay employees dedicate their
lives to our Church. We must honor their work and
service and keep our promise of a retirement benefit.
We urge you to pick up the latest issue of the Dialog
and read the full story. You can also access the Dialog
online through the diocesan website at CDOW.org.

hurt you? What an help you forgive?

CHOIR - Ah summer is here, and with it comes the
return of many familiar tunes and hymns so that the folks
in the music ministry get a bit of a breather from weekly
rehearsals. For those of you who enjoy music and have
been gifted by God with either vocal or instrumental
ability, now is also the time to consider whether you can
find the time to return that gift for the worship of God.
To make it easier for anyone considering singing or playing
an instrument (from trombone to banjo or even an
accordion!) we are going to try an experiment. If you
wish to "try us out", come in on Tuesday, September 17th,
and meet us and see the fun that we do have in offering
our musical talents back to God. If God sends you, we
are happy to have you sing.
If you want to sing only for Christmas season, that is
acceptable also. We start rehearsing Christmas music in
October. We realize that sometimes you can't make
rehearsal because of work or family. We still need you.
If you have ever sat through a mass and listened to a singer
or a choir and turned to your family and said "I could do
better than that!" well, here's your chance to make good on
that claim. All parts are needed, and all ages are
welcome. Call if you have any questions, 392-898-3463.
IF YOU WERE WAITING FOR A PERSONAL
INVITATION THIS IS IT....
50+ JUNE GATHERING - Thanks to Bob Miller
and his group "Flashback" for making our May
Gathering so much fun...The music was great, food
yummy , and exercise and fun. We will do this again
next year.
So here it is June and our last Gathering until
September will be on June 21st.....This month we will
have a picnic theme with the Group providing
hamburgers and hot dogs and the attendees providing
the side. Most likely you pick something at the last
Gathering....if you did not please bring a dish
appropriate for a picnic for yourself and 9 people.
We will have two speakers from the Lions Club, Fred
Williamson and Sabie Strzala...the topic Blindness and
Low Vision. Thanks to Kathy Lomas for arranging
the speakers.
As mentioned we will have a picture guessing
contest...so hopefully many will participate....please
send to me beforehand if possible a picture of
yourself age 10 and up.....Everyone will have a chance
to guess who is who ...prizes will be awarded. Please
do not send valuable pictures...just send copies.
Questions, Pat Taylor 378-3170, 419-7866,

of fun and successful year....
