Please provide a brief statement outlining your financial needs, skills and strengths for consideration in making financial awards. Do not include information provided in the Statement of Purpose below. Maximum 1500 Characters The only reason that I apply for the financial awards is the need. Although my parents may support me for the first year study, they would have some difficult in providing the extra fee for further study. They are just ordinary people here in China without a lot of wealth. The total income of my family is about XXXX dollar per year. So the saving of my family is quite limited. Besides that, I believe I can prove my value in academic to meet the requirement for financial awards. I received scholarship or honors for excellent academic performance each year in SJTU and participated various research programs with valuable roles. This would continue if I work hard in Georgia Tech. Moreover, I can also provide the undergraduate students TA class with the broad knowledge I learn in SJTU such as microelectronic circuit, microwave engineering, digital signal process and so on. Although my speaking score of TOELF is low, I actually can speak English clearly. You can test my speaking English by yourself. The applicant must clearly indicate the reasons for wishing to study in this program at Georgia Tech as opposed to some other program or university. The biography should describe the applicant's academic background, training and experience and should mention honors, memberships, and extracurricular activities. Special areas of research or interest should be discussed. Please be concise and specific in your response. Your space is limited to 4000 characters. Georgia Tech is the right place for me, a student major in ECE, to drive deep into the beauty of microelectronic device and find breakthrough in a totally new dimension. Understanding mathematics and physic broadly and deeply is crucial in developing new devices. I took many courses in physics and math in SJTU and got a good understanding of the principle of the world. I can solve Schrödinger equation under certain various boundary conditions and know about NEGF. I also learn partial differential equation in my junior year and know d’Alembert’s Method, Green function and numerical methods. In the graduate level, I want to find an analytic or semi-analytic/semi-numerical method to stimulate the device properties or to interpret the status of the electrons by electronic/magnetic properties such as spins. Georgia Tech is the ideal place to enhance my understandings and implement my ideas. There are many prestigious faculties here such as Prof. Abdallah Ougazzaden, Prof. Ian T Ferguson who can give me a great help in those theories Georgia Tech is also a place I can combine the projects I participated in China well with the graduate research. In the undergraduate level, I mainly take part in three projects The Fabrication of Organic Solar Film and Mechanism Analysis, The Manufactory and Property Analysis of the Oxide Protection Layer of the Carbon-based Lubricant, The Fabrication of Manganese Silicide Nanowire and Property Analysis. Two of them are in state key labs. The lab of many professors such as Professors James D Meindl, David S Citrin here can provide me further research program in those fields. During the undergraduate study, I received Scholarship for excellent academic performance, Dean’ list and People’s Award(which was also for excellent academic performance). I also took part in many extra-course activities to help others and improve my understanding of the society. I was an volunteer of 2010 Shanghai EXPO and made the visiting of thousands of tourists more convenient. I also conducted a research on the life of the farmers who lose their land near urban area. All of these experiences help me know the society better. In a word, Georgia Tech is an ideal place for me both theoretical study and experiment research.
