Scholarship Application – 2010/2011
The CH2M HILL Scholarship Program has been organized under Section 29 of the Grant of Right of Way Agreement Lease for the
operation of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. The goal of the Scholarship Program is to provide financial aid to Alaska Native students, which
will assist them in achieving their underground college educational goals and prepare them for jobs on the Trans Alaska Pipeline System
(TAPS).
Number of Awards:
The number and amount of scholarships/grants awarded each year is dependent upon:
 The number of eligible applicants

The quality of applications

The availability of funds
Applicants Must Meet the Following Eligibility Requirements:
 Applicants must be of Alaska Native Heritage and be able to provide acceptable documentation (see the checklist for specific
documentation accepted).

Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a college or university, which will prepare candidates for a position on
the Trans-Alaska Pipeline or AutoCAD/Drafting or related field.

Be a full-time (12 credit hours or the number of credits the school requires for full-time status) student during the entire
academic year to be eligible for the total scholarship amount offered.
Award Criteria:

The primary emphasis of CH2M HILL’s Scholarship Program is to provide educational assistance to Alaska Native Students
pursuing degrees in the Engineering, Design and Drafting fields which correspond to the services that CH2M HILL provides
Alyeska under contract. While applicants in other educational fields will be considered, preference is made towards the
Engineering fields.

All scholarships are awarded on an academic year basis.

Be enrolled as an undergraduate student pursuing a two or four year degree at an accredited institution and maintain at least a
2.0 GPA during the scholarship year.

All scholarship award payments are issued in the college’s name and sent to the financial aid office address stated on the
awardee’s application.
How to Apply:
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, you must meet the above eligibility requirements and complete the attached
application.
Application Deadline July 30, 2010 at 5:00PM:
This is a firm deadline. No exceptions are allowed.

FRESHMAN - FIRST YEAR COLLEGE STUDENTS CHECK LIST
This also includes anyone that is applying for Alaska Native Program/CH2M HILL Alaska’s scholarship for the first time.

Completed application. Incomplete applications will be returned. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

“Official” College/University transcripts – only if you are applying for the Alaska Native Program Scholarship for the first time and
you are currently attending a University or college.

Copy of “Official” high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Copy of “Official “ High School Transcripts

Copy of “Official” Letter of acceptance from your college or university

Letter of Intent - This letter must briefly detail the student’s goals and objectives, expected graduation date, and how their selected
academic career will link directly to a position on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. This letter must accompany the application. There are
no exceptions.

Copy of current class registration indicating full-time status



Provide ONLY ONE (1) of the following documents indicating Alaska Native Heritage. The following are the various examples of
documents that you can submit to complete your application.


Scholarship Awards are funded for both the Fall and Spring Semesters after the awardee’s have met the reporting and
scholarship requirements.

Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC) has provided scholarship funds through CH2M HILL to Student Name ______________,
Student SS#________________ that made your individual scholarship award. A condition of receipt of this scholarship requires that you
complete this “Student Information Form” and submit a current resume.
VECO Alaska, Inc. must monitor the progress of students beyond the period in which you receive the scholarship funds. This release
form will enable the organization/institution to provide information on your progress as a student, including any degrees or certifications
you receive, resume, and other information as needed. You agree to furnish a current resume annually to the awarding organization for
submission to ALYESKA in ALYESKA’S required electronic format. This resume will be furnished to ALYESKA, by the Awarding
Organization awarding you this scholarship.

ALYESKA regarding my progress as a student, now and beyond the period of my scholarship award. This information may include, but
is not limited to: major, year of completion, GPA, school, degree/certification received, and resume. I understand that release of this

for scholarship funds.
I also understand that I can only receive a maximum of $5,000 of ALYESKA PIPELINE SERVICE COMPANY scholarship funding per
award cycle, which can include multiple organizations providing ALYESKA Scholarship Funds. Failure to abide by this requirement will
jeopardize future scholarship funding.
