Power Supply

Check the supply is appropriate for the lighting rig. Complete the risk
assessment section below. All lamps to be protected by the RCD and Over
Current Protection
y
Specified by the Gaffer - control exhaust emission/Fire Extinguishers on
hand. Neutral/star point terminal earthed, connected to exposed metal
work of generator chassis and CPC.
y
Run cables clear of all sources of mechanical damage and so they do not
create a hazard themselves. Where cables pass th rough fire barriers the
effectiveness of the barrier must be maintained. Precautions should be
taken to prevent dangerous interference with switchgear etc. by
unauthorised persons.
y
Critical earth loop impedance and circuit protective conductor impedance
should be measured before system is put into use and results compared
with limits set by design or normal good practice. A record of the results
should be kept.
y
Equipment used in damp, rainy or other hostile environments should have
suitable IP rating or additional covers, tents or enclosures used.
y
If providing to another user at the event, or receiving power, there has to
be an exchange of information between all parties to ensure the risks are
controlled.
