These flasks incorporate a 0.2µm microporous hydrophobic membrane filter in a screw cap to reduce
contamination and ensure consistent gas exchange. The vented screw cap eliminates media leakage
and gas blockage problems associated with “loosened cap” procedures. Flask volume is proportional
to the vent surface to maintain equivalent rates of gas exchange. Flasks are made from optically clear
polystyrene, and vacuum-gas plasma treated to promote optimum cell attachment and growth.

These culture tubes are resistant to chemical attack and weathering. Contents will
not leach out and contaminate solutions. Borosilicate also prevents pH change in
laboratory tests. Manufactured from Durex* borosilicate glass, each tube is heat
treated at temperatures exceeding 500°C (932°F) immediately before packing,
which eliminates contamination, reduces breakage, and increases strength. Tubes
exceed USP Type I specifications.
Tubes feature well-rounded bottoms and fire-polished tops free of rough edges.
Dimensional specifications of these tubes are rigidly controlled for reliable, uniform
results. Tubes are clean-sealed in a convenient dispensing package to keep them
free from dust and other particulate contamination.
