Objective: Students will be able to address the appellation of their family members in Chinese. Materials Needed: Projector, laptop, pictures of family, flash cards B. Steps/Plan Teacher will: Students will: Setting the Stage: Students will try to recall some of the Present a family tree in PowerPoint. appellation they have learned before. Comprehensible Input Show pictures and Chinese words (flash cards) *Family members: 爸爸、媽媽、哥哥、姊姊、 弟弟、妹妹 Guided Practice: Each student will have a Chinese word taped on his/her chest. When teacher says “大風吹”, everyone will say “吹什麼”. When the teacher says “吹 Dad/ Mom”, students with these words taped on their chests need to change their seats. Playing Quick finger Independent Practice: Students will work on work sheet making sentences with new phrases and new sentence structures. Students will practice new character strokes on work sheet. Minutes:5 Students will be able to address the appellation of family members in Chinese. Minutes:20 Students will be able to identify the appellation of family members in Chinese. Minutes:10 Students will be able to create sentences using new vocabularies and new sentence structures. Students will be able to write new character strokes. Evaluation/Assessment/Closure: Give each student a few flash cards, and have them identify the family members with their partner.
