Absolute Machine Tools Opens Midwest Facility; Michael Land is GM
[ELGIN, IL – JULY 2013] Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. has established a 26,000 sq. ft.
technical center at 2475 Millenium Drive in Elgin, Illinois, approximately 40 miles northwest of
Chicago. “We’ve been doing business in Illinois, and Chicago proper for the past 20 years, and
have had wonderful customers here for that long” said Steve Ortner, president of Absolute. “It
just made sense for them and for new opportunities here that we plant ourselves and offer
greater support.” According to recent city data, Elgin is among the fastest growing cities in
Illinois.
Absolute has named Michael Land as General Manager of the new location. He will guide and
oversee all the functions that will be housed in the modern building, including business
administration, sales, applications engineering, assembly, parts inventory, machine
demonstration showroom, product training, and field service. Most recently, Mr. Land was Sales
Manager at Methods Machine Tools, Inc.
