Exhibition – Featuring South Africa’s sophisticated infrastructure and of those South African companies that are already making a difference in
Africa, but also have stakes in Asia. SASOL, Murray and Roberts, SAPPI, ABSA, NEDCOR, International SOS and SAFAIR are amongst the
South African companies that are already represented in Singapore and to be approached to assist with the exhibition and to make
presentations. The mining industry in South Africa is also of interest to Singaporean investors and their contribution would be of relevance.

Fundraiser Dinner / Gala
The Ambassador has been in contact with the Nelson Mandela Foundation in South Africa to discuss the possibility of organising a big fundraiser
dinner/gala in Mexico City in 2004. The fundraiser will coincide with the unveiling of a statue of Mr Mandela made by a South African artist. The
proceeds will be divided between the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund as well as Mexican Charitable organisations. The Mayor of Mexico City will be
a major role-player as well as major companies in Mexico, which will be contacted for sponsorship to realise this project. This project will be the
culminating event in celebrating the 10 years of democracy in South Africa.

The Embassy will host a Gender conference in South Africa as a follow-up to the South African / German Women in Dialogue hosted by the
Embassy in April 2002. The delegation from Germany will consist of Members of Parliament, business, NGOs, Academics, Journalists and other civil
organisations active in the gender field. The German delegates are expected to share experiences and exchange views with their South African
counterparts.
South Africa Youth Exchange: October 2004
The Embassy intends to invite a child from each of South Africa's nine provinces. These would be children born in 1994, who would be turning 10
years in 2004. The aim of bringing these children to Germany would symbolise our ten years of democracy. During their stay in Berlin, they will visit
schools and share their experiences of democracy with their German counterparts.

South African products and the country itself as an investment and tourist destination. Much of the expenses incurred in this respect are borne by

Exhibition (Wire Art Project): The mission is co-operating with local South African and German artists as well as the Volkekunde Museum to
launch a unique wire art project. The wiring system of the Consul General’s Residence is being refurbished and the tons of redundant old
copper wire are being donated to the project "consortium". The Consulate General is planning to develop a "walk-through" wire art exhibition
where South African artists and crafts people will cooperate with their German counterparts to create panels of wire art. The idea is to launch
the project during the 2004 national day function in Munich after which the project will be taken to other German cities. This project will rely on
sponsorships.

Possibilities of an exchange of chefs between a hotel chain in SOUTH AFRICA and the same chain in Hungary i.e. The Inter Continental Hotel. South
African cuisine will be served as part of the celebration. It would include a variety of SOUTH AFRICAN wines being served; a business dinner hosted
