Recent Cost Accounting Text may be useful—not required.

Various articles will be assigned. Article copies are the
responsibility of the student.
You may be responsible for purchasing several cases (About
three around $5.00 per copy). Should you have a problem with
this, please let me know. In addition to the possible purchases,
other cases will be provided free.
Course Objective:
To examine important areas in traditional management
accounting and the increasingly important cost management area.
The course will tend to emphasize cost management’s role in the
organization and how it is changing.
Grading Policies:
Course activities will likely be weighted as follows, although
minor changes may be made at the discretion of the instructor.

HONOR SYSTEM USED IN COURSE
Papers:
A semester paper MAY be required. If required the paper will be
based on your readings about an assigned topic. Of particular
importance in the paper is your assessment of the incremental
value provided by the area. The paper should at least ten pages
not including cover sheet, charts/tables, and references.
Summary notes will be required for some topics. You are
required to summarize the IMPORTANT points from the
assignment. Notes should be about three pages. Subject and
student name should be at the top of the first page.
