Installed MVS 3.8j via a turnkey system built by Volker Bandke and available on CD from the CBT website. I successfully IPLed MVS 3.8j on my PC. Installed ftape which is a driver for a parallel port streamer tape backup unit. Installed taper which is a streamer tape backup application. Installed 3 x Netgear ethernet PCI cards and setup a 3 node LAN with Linux as the server and 2 x WIN98 clients. Setup wu-ftpd on the Linux machine. Setup Samba server on the Linux machine. Now able to use WIN98 machines as Samba clients to access various file shares on the Linux machine as well as a printer share.
