OmniBus VDRCS Installation Instructions The following procedure can be used to install the required OmniBus applications on Profile model 100, 200, 300 & 400 series. Important Note: Installation of VDRCS on the Profile XP series requires a different procedure. From the Profile Desktop Profile VDRCS 1. Copy the optional VDRCS_v150_b54_pc.exe and portmapper&services.exe to the profile c:\temp 2. double click on the files installed in step 1 to install them using c:\ as target 3. edit c:\App_Omn\Appstart.bat using the following information… **************************** Appstart.bat ******************************* echo off REM ************* PDR200/300/400 OmniBus Apps Batch file ************ echo Waiting for Tek services to start running. Make a shortcut from c:\App_Omn\Appstart.bat on the desktop 6. Test that VDRCS starts by double clicking on the shortcut created in step 5 From the Kalypso Menu Display System Configuration (Make sure that the PC and Profile are both connected to the network and that their IP addresses are on the same subnet) 1. Start Sharer 2. Start system manager 3. Start OUI 4. Log On to sharer (user SYS, no password) 5. Access system manager by clicking on right-hand red switch on OUI taskbar 6. Access ENGINES menu and ADD engine with IP address of the sharer/sysman pc 7. Name engine added in step 6. "MANAGER" (without quotes), click on MODIFY 8. Access APPLICATIONS menu and ADD application "!APP_MAN3" (without quotes) 9. Name Application added in step 8. "SYSTEM MANAGER 3" (without quotes), click on MODIFY 10. Access ENGINES menu and select "MANAGER" engine 11. ADD application "SYSTEM MANAGER 3" to "MANAGER" engine, click on MODIFY 12. Access stations menu and add workstation "OUI-1" (without quotes) 13. ADD local applications: Machine Control Panel, Router Panel, Filer-Fax and Omni-Pager, click on MODIFY 14. Log off and log on again, select START, make sure SYSTEM MANAGER 3 application is available 15. Log on to SYSTEM MANAGER 3 16. Run VDRCS on the Profile by double clicking on Appstart.bat on the Profile desktop 17. Access ENGINES menu on system manager and add engine with the Profile IP address 18. Name engine added in step 17 "Profile1" (without quotes), click on MODIFY 19. Access APPLICATIONS menu on system manager and add application "!APP_VDRCS" 20. Name application added in step 19 "Profile1" (without quotes), click on MODIFY 21. Access ENGINES menu in system manager and select engine Profile1 22. ADD application "Profile1", click on MODIFY 23. PING the Profile from the system manager, it should respond. 24. POLL the Profile from the system manager, it should respond with "!APP_VDRCS idling at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx “(ip address) 25. Exit system manager 26. Click on START in the OUI, Profile1 should appear as an application 27. Log on to Profile1 28. Select CONFIG 29. Enter name "Profile1" (without quotes) 30. Select Port 1 and set device type to Profile PDRx00 (depending on which type of Profile you have) 31. Set Protocol to Profile API 32. Set Chnl No. to 1 33. Set Chnl. ID. to 1 34. enable channel 1 35. Repeat steps 30-34 for the other channels (substituting the appropriate channel, port and ID numbers) 36. Click on SAVE to save configuration 37. Exit VDRCS 38. Access Local Machine Control Panel on OUI 39. Select ADD, the following list of devices should appear... (assuming a 4-channel Profile) Profile1-1 Profile1-2 Profile1-3 Profile1-4
