BU 486 MIS PROJECTS. (3) Prerequisites: BU 470 and BU 482.
This course serves as a capstone course for the MIS curriculum. It is a project-based
course that provides students with the opportunity to perform systems analysis, design,
and implementation in a realistic business environment. The student will demonstrate the
ability to analyze, plan, and design applications using database concepts and tools such as
Visual Basic for Applications, Visible Analyst or Visio, and Microsoft Project. Current
system documentation techniques will be required for each project. Project outcomes
will include use of classical and structured tools and techniques that describe data flows,
data structures, database designs, input and output designs, and program specifications.
