SUMMARY (Complete the following sentence)
The purpose of this position is directly responsible for the monitor and control of all Maintenance &
Repair of land based assets including dry, reefer and special containers, chassis, gensets and related
equipment for NYK in North America
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES
(Describe the major responsibilities of this position).
Duties and Responsibilities:






Responsible for all aspects of NYK NA’s chassis cost to operate/ maintain/utilize
Work Directly with M&R/ Chassis Team in managing invoice reconciliation process
Main Interface with the UIIA (Uniform Intermodal Interchange Agreement) - including NYK Shut out
process.
Oversee Area offices expenses related to reefer operations and M&R, drive cost reduction and
efficiencies
Manage/develop cost KPI’s related to truck, reefer and chassis expenditures
Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS (To be fully competent in the job)
1. SPECIAL SKILLS (Computer training, quality training, special programs)










Excellent organizational and analytical skills required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor in a fast paced environment, dealing with both internal
and external customers.
Operational cost control experience is a must.
Proficient in Microsoft PC based software.
Good written and verbal communications skills
Requires outstanding Team Leadership skills.
Proven ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.
Detail oriented.
Accounting working knowledge
Creative "out of the box" approach
2. PREFERRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required or currently enrolled and attending in pursuit of degree at time of bid
3. WORK EXPERIENCE (Years of experience in the industry and functional area)
 Minimum of 5-8 years industry experience, 2-3 years supervisory experience required
ADA REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (the following describes physical demands of
the typical position)
The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position. Occasional walking,
stooping, filing, lifting or standing is required. The hands are regularly used to write, type, file, key and
