RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Save the Date……….
Today we begin five weeks of readings from
the 6th Chapter of the Gospel of John.
Beginning with Jesus multiplying the loaves
and fishes, we reflect on the mystery of the
Eucharist, the center of our Catholic and
Christian faith.
Father Russell thanks all who have sent best
wishes and prayers for his recovery from
prostate cancer. His oncologist has determined
that the hormonal therapy has worked and
prepared the tumor for radiation. This daily
therapy should begin on July 27th. Please pray
that this goes well.
2015 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL
We made it!! Thanks to some of our
parishioners who made additional pledges to
the Appeal, we have surpassed the target
assigned to us. We currently stand at $59,483.
We pray that all who have made a pledge will
be able to pay the amount of their pledge.

CANNING JARS NEEDED FOR BAZAAR
Pacem in Terris Film & Discussion Series
With the growing season coming into full
swing, the canning is beginning for the Bake
Table and Christmas Bazaar. We would ask
that anyone who has any extra empty canning
jars in the jelly, jam or pint sizes, regular or
wide mouth, drop them off on the Rectory
Porch marked “Canning Jars”. We would also
ask that they be the actual canning jars for we
cannot use mayonnaise or other such jars.
Thank you for your help and keep a lookout
for those great homemade preserves, pickles,
etc. that will be available at Bazaar!
Tuesday, 7/28: “Institutionalized Racism,
Mass Incarceration & the New Jim Crow:
Broken on All Sides”. This documentary
focuses on mass incarceration across the nation
and the intersection of race and poverty within
criminal justice. It centers around the theory
put forward by many and most recently by
Michelle Alexander (who appears in the
movie), that mass incarceration has become
“The New Jim Crow”. Chuck Singleton, of the
Coalition to Dismantle the New Jim Crow, will
lead the discussion after this film. The
Coalition is the co-sponsor of this film. The
film is shown at 7pm in the Daughty House
adjacent to Westminster Presbyterian Church
parking lot at 13th and N. Rodney Streets in
Wilmington. Free parking in lot. The Series is
sponsored by Pacem in Terris. For more info,
call 302-656-2721 or www.depaceminterris.org.
