Rittal and ABB expand their partnership for UPS systems
Extension of successful partnership on
an international scale
Within the scope of its partner strategy for data
centres, Rittal has been successfully supplying
ABB’s UPS systems as an OEM version for many
years. Now, Rittal and ABB have agreed to deepen
their partnership on an international level – to
support their growth strategies in this market
segment.
Herborn/Hanover, 6 March 2013 – In the future, Rittal will
deploy 3-phase UPS systems as standard modules from
ABB, and will leverage additional local ABB services.
“This partnership demonstrates our extensive expertise
in providing solutions for data centres and strengthens
our sales activities and services in local markets,” states
Christoph Caselitz, Chief of Customer Operations at
Rittal. UPS systems are key components of data centres.
ABB’s product, for example, forms part of RiMatrix S –
the modular, standardised data centre that Rittal is
unveiling at this year’s CeBIT.
“ABB and Rittal enjoy a long and successful partnership.
This new move will boost the global growth of both
brands in the flexible data centre segment”, explains
Rainer Weigle, Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing, ABB Product Group Power Protection. And by
expanding collaboration between ABB and Rittal’s
international subsidiaries, both companies will strengthen
their competitive edge – for example, by implementing
projects for customers in the data centre market with the
utmost efficiency.
