Name Date Hour English 9 Literature Circles Final Presentation As a wrap-up to our Literature Circles, your group will be making a presentation to the rest of the class. Everyone in the group must participate (i.e. speak) in the presentation in order to earn credit. Also, remember that your audience (classmates) have not all read the chapters that you have, so keep this in mind as you present. You may divide this project as needed so that each group member makes a contribution. Be sure to note on the rubric who is responsible for what, and turn in the written description of everyone’s role in the project (see below). You can work on your project during any worktime in class; you should make your final plans with your group on Thursday, September 24 and again on Friday, September 25; you will present your projects on Monday, September 28, 2015. Presentation Requirements: 1. Introduction/Attention Grabber: You must get the class interested in your chapters at the beginning of your presentation. You could pose a question to the class, read an important quote, or play a song related to the novel. Be creative! (5 points) 2. Explain the setting of each chapter (time and place). (5 points) 3. Explain the major events that occurred in each assigned chapters. (5 points) 4. Explain any changes in characters. (5 points) 5. Explain how one theme is present in each chapter and text evidence of how that theme is exemplified in the chapters. (5 points) You must create the following visual aids: 1. Pictorial or graphic of setting for each chapter, min. 12” x 17” (10 points) 2. Pivotal character diagram for each chapter on posterboard with explanation on why these characters are the most important in your chapter/s, min. 12” x 17” (10 points) 3. Illustrations of one important scene from each chapter a. on un-lined paper, min. 8 ½” x 11” b. Each scene must be on a separate sheet of paper in color c. Each scene must include a quote from the novel at the bottom of the paper (be sure to include the page number) d. (5 points each – 15 points total) 4.
