MINUTES
There was one amendment to the minutes: Tony will direct the Spring 2015 production, not the
Autumn production of 2014.
MATTERS ARISING

Easy Virtue was enjoyed by those who attended the viewing. Thanks are expressed to Susie
Wilde and to Beta Plus for permission to use their equipment.

The committee also wished to express thanks to Hilary Strong for the excellent Studio
workshop that she ran for us.

Leafy said that the checklists for roles in the society will be added to the website. She has
most of the information that she needs now.

The scripts are distributed for the Summer Shakespeare event in June and all parts are cast
now, albeit with some doubling.
TREASURER’S REPORT

Tony reported that a full set of accounts will be available for next month’s meeting prior to
the AGM.

He said that social events need to break even over the whole year. There was a charge for
those involved in the Studio event as it went over 3 days.

Richard has bought 3 staple guns for Bolton Twill.
AUTUMN PRODUCTION 2014 Master of the Marionettes.

Leafy was pleased to report that she had enough suitable men audition and has chosen those
who she can use, though she may not finalise who does what until rehearsals begin.

She has not been able to cast the part of the woman. All the audition protocols have been
observed so she can go ahead and advertise outside the group.

She has made some progress with backstage roles: Rob Hatherley will stage manage, Jan will
do sound, Tony will design and operate the lighting and Sue Wilkins will help out as needed.
SPRING 2015 PRODUCTION
Tony presented a summary of the two plays he is interested in: Star Quality by Noel Coward and
Daisy Pulls It Off by Denise Deegan. He also outlined the staging and gave an assessment of what
each play would entail. After some discussion, it was decided that he would do the latter which he
preferred.
MAILING LIST
Richard has been through the mailing list and there are 385 names on it. He has each show listed with
the names of those who bought tickets for them. Some discussion followed about those who attended
but are not on the list because someone else did the purchasing. The full database will be used for this
next production only. Prospective audience will be emailed details as well as receiving flyers through
the post about future productions.
CLUB NIGHTS, SOCIAL EVENTS

The trip to the Minerva Theatre will be to see Miss Julie and Black Comedy. All the tickets
have been sold now.

Noel and Margaret Edwards will be contacted to see if they wish to do a play reading evening
in September using some scripts from their writers’ course. Scilla will do this.

A Thousand Tiny Plays or Pint-sized Plays could be used in a Studio or a play read.

Sue Wilkins will organise a skittles evening in October.

A games evening might be arranged for Twelfth Night.

The WW1 activity after the AGM is coming together. Susie is looking at letters, photographs
and a short play on London buses written by Carol Godsmark.
WEBSITE AND FPS LOGO
Pat Grindey is doing a website course and may like to help FPs as a part of it. She submitted a number
of logo designs for the committee to consider. She raised the questions, ‘Who is the website for?’ and
‘What is it for?’ It was noted that it needs updating so a small working party consisting of Richard,
Tiffin and Paul will work on it. This is to be confirmed later. Pat will be invited to join them.(N)
