Cecilia and the Satellite February 26, 2015 -- The life of a touring artist can be grueling. That could become even more grueling when toting around a newborn. However, for Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, life away from home proves blissful precisely because of that child. The namesake of his band’s single “Cecilia and the Satellite,” the daughter of Southern California-based artist Andrew McMahon proves as inspiring at home as on a tour bus on the opposite coast. Written just weeks prior to her birth, McMahon wanted to create a song that introduced who he was and the stories he lived prior to Cecilia’s entry to the world. The result ultimately became the powerful first single from his newest band incarnation’s self-titled album Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness (Vanguard). McMahon was the frontman of previous bands Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin. The new “Day in the Life” cut from the “Cecilia and the Satellite” video, filmed over the course of a day while on tour in Philadelphia, showcases how an otherwise ordinary day is brightened because of the presence of Cecilia, Andrew’s wife Kelly, and even their dog Doris. “Day in the Life” video” feature placement on Vevo: http://vevo.ly/KeJbud Performance on VH1Big Morning Buzz today: http://tinyurl.com/q5ld5a6 Song featured in MTV’s Real World this week Official music video featured on all JETBLUE flights during the month of February COACHELLA shows: April 11 & April 18 Guest on “Going Off Track” podcast hosted by Jonah Bayer & SNL’s Vanessa Bayer Top 3 Shazam rankings in airplay markets For tour dates and additional information visit AndrewMcMahon.com andfacebook.com/andrewmcmahonmusic.
