Vacancies on university committees were filled as needed during the year.
The Instructional Development Committee was renamed Teaching, Learning, and Instructional Technology and the
charge was changed so that the committee could provide recommendations to the CTE and eLearning.
To be consistent with terminology used by the federal regulatory agency, the name of the Safeguards in Human
Research Committee was changed to Institutional Review Board for Human Research.
Discussed changes to the bylaws with the Faculty Governance Committee.
Worked with the Executive Committee in preparing slates for the HMVV Committee and Senate offices.
Collected information about “ex officio” members of University Committees in preparation for recommending
changing the designation to “liaison” to indicate non-voting status.
End-of-year reports are being requested from each committee. They will be forwarded to the Executive Committee
during the summer.
The on-line process for committee preference was repeated.
Initial recommendations for 2005-06 are complete except for the chair of one committee. As soon as that is
completed, the recommendations will be sent to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Chancellor, and the
Faculty Senate Chair.
