Drinking Water Operator Training Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20; 4:00-7:00 p.m. Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester MA Target Audience This course is designed for individuals who are interested in an exposure to career opportunities in the drinking water field and will prepare them to take, the VSS (Very Small System), Grade 1 Distribution, and Grade 1 Treatment Operator Exams. Course Description This 15-hour course will provide participants with: Basic drinking water information including: · Introduction to Public Water Systems · Basic Water Science · Water Treatment Systems · Distribution Systems · Sampling and Laboratory Analysis An understanding of the many professional employment opportunities that are available in the drinking water (environmental field) Preparation for the Massachusetts Drinking Water Operator VSS (Very Small System), Grade 1 T (Treatment) and Grade 1 D (Distribution) Exams. Program participants may also be eligible to take part in a paid internship program at participating public water systems. This training is funded by MassDEP's Drinking Water Program, Green Jobs Initiative. This program is part of a comprehensive operator training initiative which provides both classroom and field (internship) training to potential small system drinking water operators.
