Duties and Responsibilities















Assembling panel board breaker switch
Assembling 200amps boulkit and 400amps twist lock cable.
Perform overhead inspection and adjust if necessary.
Inspect main alternator bearing for signs of over heating (squealing noise), grease if
required,. (not required for sealed bearings) change bearing every 10,000 hours.
Remove fan/alternator belt inspect belt all pulleys, belt tensional, and hub condition for
wobble or excess end play. Grease and adjust as required. (standby gens change fan belt)
Inspect entire system i.e. air filter assembly, pipes, hoses, turbo inlet, and clamps for
cracks, breaks, security and overall condition. Correct as required. Remove housing and
pressure wash needed
Remove cracks exhaust system i.e. manifold, turbo charger, muffler, piping, gaskets and
clamps for cracks, leaks, security and overall condition. Correct as required.
Remove crankcase breather and clean it out with diesel. Assure breather tube is clear of
obstructions.
Open up to the control panel and remove any dust, check the electrical connections for
security, and look for any evidence of any burned or frayed wires.
Check the output panel receptacles, reconnection panel, load terminals connections for
security, wear looseness, breaks, overall condition etc… corrects as required.
Perform a general inspections of the electrical system, checking for loose connections,
chaffing or frayed wires. Ensure that all connections are secured tightly. Inspect grounds
for condition and security. Correct all as required.
Remove all housing cover and blow out alternator with compressed air
Inspect entire generator set for loose, damaged, or missing parts and unusual wear or
deterioration. Repair/replace if required. Check and lubricate governor linkage if required
Wipe down front of control panel and components not recommended to be steam cleaned
to remove dust and dirt. Dry compressed air/vacuum and soft brush may also be used
Inspect for security of hardware, and for general wear and damage to the trailer
components. (tires, wheels, jack, etc…)





Check tires for proper inflation and for excessive dry rot
Check for hinges and door latches for condition and smooth operation. Lubricate and
repair as required
Corrosion control bare metal as needed on both trailer and generator set
Test the unit for one hour under load utilizing belly tank if equipped
Refuel the diesel set tank if needed at least ¾ full before returning to ready line
