Polypropylene braids (available in continuous
multifilament yarn or in air-textured yarn)
Properties: Moderate strength with low stretch,
good UV stability.
Uses: A good general purpose braid for carrier bag handles, light pulls, draw cords, etc.
Available in a range of colours, including: red, blue, green, orange, yellow, violet,
brown, black and white.

Acrylic Braided Cord - 4mm/6mm, Coloured

Properties:
Made from staple spun yarn, the braids have a natural look and feel,
similar to cotton. A wide range of standard colours is available from
which to choose. This allows relatively short runs to be produced
economically for design applications where shade matching or pattern
choice is required.
Larger diameter braids (up to 30mm) can be produced using a suitable
core material and the more expensive coloured yarn as the outer sheath.
Uses:
Carrier bag handles, draw cords, dog leads, box
handles, and for a variety of decorative purposes.
Available in the following colours:
Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Brown, Black and White, plus patterns.
N.B.
A much wider range of colours is available (180 shades in total) but a minimum
order quantity of 5000m applies to non-standard shades.
The braid is produced from 6’s cotton count acrylic yarn and is available in two

Knit-Braid Cord - 4mm/12mm dia

Description: These braids offer a cheaper alternative to conventional plaited braid. They are produced
on small circular warp knitting machines to give a tubular braid, with or without a core.
The smaller diameters (4 - 8mm) are knitted from flat polypropylene multifilament yarn and the larger
diameters (9 - 12mm) from bulked continuous filament polypropylene.
Available in the following colours:
Multifilament - white, red, blue, green, orange, yellow, brown, black and any two colour combination.
BCF - red, blue, black, brown, white, red/black, blue/black, red/blue

These braids are produced with a synthetic sheath of acrylic yarns or acrylic/polypropylene yarns and a
core of synthetic yarns and or polypropylene cord/rope
Available in the following colours: - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Brown, Black and White, plus patterns.
NB. A much wider range of colours is available (180 shades in total) but a minimum order quantity of
5000m applies to non-standard shades.
They are specifically produced as low cost decorative ropes suitable for such end uses as bag handles,
dog leads, frogging etc. Although the ropes are strong and flexible they do not conform to any particular
British or other standard so should not be used for applications where optimum strength is a crucial
requirement.

BUSINESS TERMS

It is the customer’s responsibility to ask for yarn colour samples (supplied free of charge) as
these products are custom made to order, to the customer’s specifications, and goods cannot
be exchanged once they have been made.
1.
All new and overseas customers are dealt with on a Pro-forma basis and all
Payments are required to clear before the goods can be dispatched..
2.
Account customers: Payment is net and strictly within 30 days from date of
invoice. A 2.5% early settlement discount, on goods value only (excluding
VAT), is allowed for payment within 14 days.
3.
Interest will be charged on overdue accounts at the rate of 2% per calendar
month or part thereof.

All prices are subject to VAT at the current rate, where relevant.
5.
We reserve the right to alter prices at any time and to invoice at the price ruling on the
date of despatch.
6.
Non-delivery to be notified in writing within 14 days of invoice date. Damage or
shortages to be notified within 3 days of receipt of goods.
7.
Title in the goods will remain with W R Outhwaite & Son, Ropemakers, until
such time as payment has been received in full of all monies owed to
W R Outhwaite & Son, Ropemakers, at any time by the buyer.
