PROJECT MANAGER, THE SKILLS TO SUCCEED ACADEMY JOB DESCRIPTION AND TERMS & CONDITIONS Terms and conditions Job Title: Project Manager, Skills to Succeed Academy (secondment to Accenture) Reports to: Programme Manager, Skills to Succeed Academy (secondment to Accenture) Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 dependant on experience, plus pension scheme Hours: 35 hours per week, some evening work is required Annual Leave: 27 days per annum plus public holidays Length of 12 months fixed term contract to 31st August 2015 (extension subject to Contract: performance and funding) Location: Predominantly the Accenture offices on Fenchurch Street and the ELBA offices in Crossharbour but working across multiple partner sites in London as well as occasional national travel About ELBA ELBA is the leading social regeneration charity in east London. It facilitates corporate investment from over 100 organisations into community programmes spanning the growth boroughs of east London. A registered charity, ELBA has over 24 years of experience in enabling successful partnerships between business and the community. In the last two years, ELBA has helped place over 1500 people into work in east London through its award-winning employment programme and last year alone delivered over 14,000 employee volunteers into the community, and worked with over 500 local organisations in east London to help build their capacity and support their beneficiaries. About the Skills to Succeed Academy The Skills to Succeed Academy is a free, highly interactive, on-line training programme, designed specifically to meet the needs of 15-24 year old jobseekers. Its aim is to help young people understand career choices, find a job and sustain employment by equipping them with key employability skills. The training consists of 3 courses and contains 35 online modules in total as well as offline activity packs and a mobile phone app. ELBA has partnered with Accenture on the development of the Skills to Succeed Academy since 2011 when we helped to convene focus groups of experts from the skills & employment sector as well as young people from the target audience to help inform the training content. Subsequently we managed a pilot group in east London in 2012. ELBA now has two staff members seconded full time to the Accenture Corporate Citizenship Team with responsibility for helping to embed the training within educational establishments, job brokerages and volunteer 1 initiatives across London and, increasingly, nationally. Purpose of the role To work with the Programme Manager and Accenture team to deliver the Skills to Succeed Academy programme as part of ELBA’s strategic relationship with Accenture, an important ELBA corporate partner focused on the employment and skills agenda. Job description Main Duties: Training Delivery and Partner Engagement Regularly deliver Skills to Succeed Academy training to young people at council run job brokerages and Jobcentre Plus offices Organise and deliver Skills to Succeed Academy training sessions at school, college and university careers events and drop down days Deliver Skills to Succeed Academy “train the trainer” sessions for ELBA and partner organisation staff Work with partner organisations to align Skills to Succeed Academy content with their own priorities and learning objectives for young people, helping to develop courses and lesson plans Support partner organisation IT departments to test technology to ensure the programme is fully accessible and proactively use the IT support guide to overcome issues Deliver demonstrations of the Skills to Succeed Academy to potential new partners Lead on recruitment for Accenture “Movement to Work” programme activity where required Communication Act as an advocate and ambassador for the Skills to Succeed Academy both internally at Accenture and ELBA and externally with partners and potential partners Lead on embedding the Skills to Succeed Academy within Accenture’s volunteer offering Proactively generate case studies, news articles, photos and social media content to promote the work of ELBA and Accenture in line with ELBA and Accenture communication targets and protocols Monitoring and Evaluation Alongside the Programme Manager, oversee deliverables to ensure the project remains on track to meet/exceed all performance indicators. This means paying particular attention to tracking learner outcomes into jobs or education and working with partners to ensure this is done efficiently Compile quarterly outcomes reports accurately and within specified timeframe ensuring a full and clear audit trail that demonstrates thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail Attend meetings and complete written reports as required by the Programme Manager Provide training and employability subject matter expertise where required by Accenture to inform Accenture Corporate Citizenship activity General Develop a broad knowledge of regeneration programmes and local authority priorities in east London Alongside the Programme Manager, ensure the Skills to Succeed Academy is embedded across ELBA and that new staff are trained in its use Collaborate with other ELBA colleagues on projects where appropriate, and contribute to the development of ELBA as an organisation overall National travel may be required on occasion Adhere to and implement policies, including equal opportunities and health and safety Other reasonable departmental duties at ELBA and/or Accenture as required 2 Person Specification ELBA’s core competencies define the principles and ethos that are central to the way we seek to operate as an organisation and the way we treat those with whom we come into contact.
