AY2008/2009 FINAL YEAR PROJECT SELECTION (MP4079 & AE4079)
Final year projects to be offered starting in the 1st semester of AY 2008/2009 will be grouped under the
following categories:
Category A
Category B
Category C
: Design and Development
: Investigation and Analysis
: Software Development and Applications
You may log into the on-line system to view the description of the projects from 28 May 2008:
NTU homepage → Studentlink → Survey/Subject Option → MAE Final Year Project Selection →
enter your matrix number and PIN → select the desired option and click on the <continue> button.
In case of any difficulty in using the system, you may contact Ms Agatha at 6790-5492 (email:
mklho@ntu.edu.sg).
All eligible students (refer to page 2) should make their on-line selection from 02 June 2008 to 17 June
2008. You may select a maximum of five (5) projects from any category according to your order of
preference. Please consult the supervisors of these projects before you make your selection.
Design Stream Students and Mechatronics Stream Students can select their projects only from those
exclusively designated Design Specialisation and Mechatronics Specialisation respectively. AERO students
will select their projects meant for AERO only. The system is designed to handle this for you automatically.
The allocation will be done by computer ballot and the results will be posted on the School’s notice board and
the on-line system after 19 June 2008. Eligible students who are not allocated with projects after the first
round of ballot are required to select from the remaining projects through the on-line system from 20 June
2008 to 26 June 2008.
All projects are single student projects. However, students assigned projects marked Part I and Part II may
collaborate with each other as these are linked projects; however, each student will have a separately defined
scope and will have to submit an individual report.

The Final Year Project (FYP) as a subject carries 10 Academic Units (AUs).

Students who are promoted to Year 4 and have accumulated enough AUs, will
