VEHICLE AUCTION INSTRUCTIONS
AND GUIDELINES
INSTRUCTIONS
Type or print legibly in black ink. No Abbreviation, please. Mileage will be completed at auction site by SSPP.
Send the Original & 2 copies of the SIGNED Vehicle Condition Report/ID.
Send one set of vehicle keys on the pre-numbered key tag.
When transporting own vehicles to the auction facility, leave vehicle keys with facility staff.
Send the Original & 1 copy of a signed Odometer Statement 10 days prior to auction date.
AUCTION SALE GUIDELINES
The following are condition guidelines for vehicles that may be sold at State Motor Vehicle auctions. If unsure about the acceptability of a vehicle for
an auction, please contact the SSPP at 608-266-1719.
Conditions that need to be repaired:

Windshield damage

Broken headlights & taillights

Inoperative turn signals

Brakes (including ABS systems)

Excessively worn tires

Alignment

Steering components

Missing fuel cap(s)

Restraining devices (seat belts, air bags, etc.)

mirrors
Conditions that may warrant salvage:

repairs in excess of 70% of vehicle fair market value

excessive body rust (30%-70%)

rusted rocker panels

rusted out floors in driver/passenger compartments
Conditions that warrant approval/clarification from SSPP:

seized engine

welded / replaced flooring within passenger compartments

transmission problems (non operative, poor shifting)

missing side / rear windows

missing keys, locked compartments, etc

speedometer / odometer discrepancy

any tow away vehicles

any vehicles seized or impounded

condition too poor to transport safely to auction location
