N Modules – Tom Mallien/Bob Keeler – We set up in Decatur on Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April22. We had a few problems with switches and power to a section leading out of the yard along with the usual problems with controllers. I’ve replaced the failed switch in the passenger control panel and modified 3 new controllers using the boxes from broken controllers. I’ve also purchased a sign for using to denote our club layouts that replaces the makeshift ‘zoo’ sign. I also purchased a banner to hang on our layout to identify it at shows. OLD BUSINESS Dues for 2012-2013 are now being received. So far, we have 52 members who have renewed. Those members having not renewed their membership by June 1st will receive a The date for the trip to the Columbia Dinner Train is June 10th. Cost is $68/person, payment is due now. We will leave the Bass Pro Shop on 5th Street in St. Charles at 8 am to car pool. Kevin called into “Let’s Talk Trains” on Saturday, April 21st and talked to Ted Picraux about the club. He feels he represented the club fairly well and had fun doing it. NEW BUSINESS Christmas party on Dec 1st, we have two choices to be voted on are The Department at Joliet or Maladaner's in Springfield. Here is the rough cost that you asked for and times. For Maladaner's: Cost is about $50 and we would leave about 4:00 p.m. and return about 8:00 p.m. For the Department in Joliet, we would leave about 8:00 and return about 3:00 p.m. The cost is about $55 for this option. With a show of hands, the clear choice was The Department in Joliet. Bill will work to confirm the arrangements. During the audit, we found that the receipts submitted for reimbursement need to be signed by the individual and noted for what account it is for, so we can correctly debit the account. Also only people pulling the club trailers will be allowed reimbursement for gas. Kevin asked if the club should establish a policy/procedure for Boeing employees who inherit railroad equipment. It was decided the club should only provide “direction”. 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS Bob Keeler’s house got hit by the recent hail storm, his outdoor G scale layout did not fair well. John Kuhne has suffered a stroke and is in Barns Hospital. Carl Horn was the door prize winner. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted Ron Hardy, Secretary Boeing Employees’ Railroad Club – St. Louis Marty Paten, who will speak to us during our trip on the Columbia Dinner Train, has written a book, ” The Columbia Branch Railroad” and is currently taking preorders and is hoping for a May release.
