Question
Can I be on Messenger from my mobile device?
Mes9mob
Thanks for contacting us for help using Messenger from your mobile device.
There are two ways -- check it out:
1. Sign into Yahoo! Messenger on your mobile phone (or other device) when you’re
away from the PC. Your friends see you as I'm Mobile. They can send SMS
messages directly to your device. So take off for lunch or for the day -- you are
still IM'able on your mobile device.
2. You can also forward your Messenger phonecalls to your mobile device or to a
landline. Sweet! And it's quite easy:
o Click Forward... at the top of your Messenger window.
o Next to "Forward incoming calls to:", click Add a Number, and follow
the steps to activate the number to which you'd like to forward calls.
o Once you've activated call forwarding, you do not need to be signed-in to
Messenger to receive calls. In fact, your computer can be off completely.
o Note: You'll incur Phone-Out charges when Messenger phone calls are
forwarded, so you'll need a Phone Out account. Please visit the Yahoo!
Voice page which you can access from this url
http://voice.yahoo.com/phone_calls.php. Calls forwarded to landline
phones won't incur an additional charge, but calls forwarded to mobile
numbers may count as minutes used, depending on the plan you've
purchased from your mobile carrier.
Question

3. You'll be guided through a few easy steps for entering your number.
o If you already have a registered number, it will be displayed in the
“Forward offline IMs to” menu, and you can simply click it to start IM
forwarding.
To enter your number for Messenger call forwarding:
1. Click Forward... at the top of your Messenger window.
2. Click Add a Number, and follow the steps to activate the number to which you'd
like to forward calls.
3. Once you've activated call forwarding, you do not need to be signed-in to
Messenger to receive calls. In fact, your computer can be off completely.
4. Note: You'll incur Phone-Out charges when Messenger phone calls are
forwarded, so you'll need a Phone Out account which you can access using this
url http://voice.yahoo.com/phone_calls.php. Calls forwarded to landline phones
won't incur an additional charge, but calls forwarded to mobile numbers may
count as minutes used, depending on the plan you've purchased from your mobile

Question
How do I sign into or out of “Go Mobile” from my computer?
Mes9signmobcomp
Thanks for contacting us for help using the “Go Mobile” feature in Messenger. Have you
registered your number yet? If not, click the Forward... button in the upper corner of
your Messenger window, and next to "Forward offline IMs to", click Add a phone
number. Once you've registered a number, IM forwarding is automatically enabled
whenever you sign out of Messenger.
To manually sign onto your device, click the Messenger menu and select "Sign into
(device's number will appear here)." Then click OK. This logs you out of Yahoo!
Messenger on your computer and immediately logs you into Yahoo! Messenger on your
device.
Note: You need to have a strong signal and be within the coverage area to receive
messages. If you are, but are still having problems sending or receiving messages, switch
your phone off and back on (as a means of providing an updated "request" to the
network).
Signing in and out of Call forwarding
You sign into call forwarding when you select a phone number for forwarding your
Messenger calls. (Do this by clicking Forward... at the top of the Messenger window,
then Add a number next to “Forward incoming calls to”).
Until you turn it off, all Messenger phone calls will be forwarded to that number, whether
you’re signed into Messenger or not (your computer can even be off). To turn off call
forwarding, click Forward... at the top of the Messenger window, and next to “Forward
your calls to”, click Turn Call Forwarding Off. This is also the place to turn it back on,
whenever you’d like.
